Guys, I have linksys wireless router for my laptop. In my home office, I have a cat 5 wire running from my desk to a closet with my printer(the same closet also house my linksys router). I want to be able to connect my laptop to the printer and directly into the router(sometimes I don't want to go wireless). Can one cat 5 wire do both?? How should I be setting this up?? Can I just connect the printer through the router??

You need more cables. Router is the central point; connect laptop to it using one cat 5 cable. Connect printer to router using another cat 5 cable. Set printer up to match IP scheme used on the router. Report back ;-)

How are you setting up the printer with Cat5? Is it a network printer? If it is, you're good........... If not, you need a print server. Linksys makes them also. (I think)
