Eric, I think flash32 is trying to determine if your accumulator is in good condition. The accumulator is a rubber bladder inside a hard plastic case. The F1 pump pressurizes the rubber bladder, which is supposed to hold pressure, so the pump doesn’t have to constantly or repeatedly run a lot. Hope this helps. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
That and trying to see if solenoid , loose screws or pump .. the timings will allow me to take next step in decision table If we connect the launch and i log into that would be great as well ..remote diag is ideal when i drive the tool Sent from my moto g power using Tapatalk
Ok, I redid all the tests but was unable to hear the pump when I start the car in neutral. The car is just way too loud. I even stuck rags in both tail pipes. 1. Door Open - Pumps runs for 4.5 secs 2. Key On - Engine Off - Pump runs for 15 secs, turns off for 6.5 minutes then comes back on. 3. Engine Running in N - Unable to get a reading because car is too loud. 4. Engine Off - How many shifts before Pump comes on. N-1-N (3 shifts) then pump comes on for 2.5 secs. 5. Engine Running - How many shifts before Pump comes on. N-1 (2 shifts) then pump comes on for a second or so.
Based on the tests above..coming down to solenoid and/ or accumulator Based on the readings on launch (if correct ) ...pointing to accumulator Given mileage and cost of parts I would change accumulator , bleed system (all three or at least two points (! actuator and clutch) One variable to look into is the leakage rate of the e-diff I believe the version of launch you have also gives you that ..it could very well be that the pressure is being lost in the e-diff or the solenoid on e-diff We can test by disconnecting e-diff and see if timings change .. you will get an error but you can then clear it Sent from my moto g power using Tapatalk
I am suggesting that if e-diff is ok change the accumulator ( not the actuator) .. accumulator is less than 280 dollars That being said I haven't finished working with Eric to pinpoint it exactly
If you have the x431, you can connect this up and monitor the F 1 pump cutting in and out. It will show a graph of the cut in/ out pressures
He replaced the accumulator and so far so good ..waiting for Eric to give a full report This is definitely a wear item and should be changed at 30k in my opinion..inexpensive part 250-300 Sent from my moto g power using Tapatalk
Hello there folks, I too have a mysterious issue with my F1 system, I have a 2001 360 spider with 123,000 klms on it and have recently replaced clutch and Done major service, the car after approx 30 minutes of driving, when slowing down at the lights usually, changes down gears pops into neutral and refuses to select any gear, we have to wait until the car cools down and then it’s ok for another half an hour ect ect 40,000 klms ago the heat exchanger went and made a mess, We think it’s due for another gearbox, or and actuator perhaps but it only plays up after 30 minutes of driving any thoughts Regards Adrian
Could be a few things ..could be an accumulator and / or sensors Without connecting a diag tool and doing proper analysis i would only be guessing ..but those are my two educated guesses with the limited info you presented Sent from my moto g power using Tapatalk
Sorry for the lack of response. Crazy family issues. Problem was fixed, but I haven't had a chance to drive it other than initial test drive. Ugh.... Dominick was such a great help and a huge asset to the Ferrari community. Thank you!
My pleasure to help you ..hope your family issues get resolved quickly and in a positive way Sent from my moto g power using Tapatalk
@flash32 Is installing the accumulator pretty easy or does it require special tools? I may decide to go ahead and do mine. I had the F1 pump replaced when I first got the car, but have not done the accumulator. Since I have to get around to fixing the O2 stuff at some point, I'm thinking it may be worth getting in front of.
This is all I used to remove the accumulator. It just clamps on it and lets you unscrew it. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08LT64XB1?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
The hardest part is removing it .. you will need a breaker bar and a universal type filter wrench(3 prong) .. When you are ready to do ..let me know and we can have a quick call if you like Sent from my moto g power using Tapatalk
