Years ago my Dad rented a movie to which he claimed would be filled with mind blowing car stunts and good twists and turns in character's roles during the flick. He was completely right and to this day one of the most stunning images I have is of this truck on a dangling Indiana Jones type bridge ready to just fall into the drink...

Movie is about a bunch of lowlifes ( could be convicts, ) selected to drive a batch of nitro through the jungles of South America to help put out a raging fire. There are many hair raising scenes where trucks are just inches away from mountain edges that seem to make Homer's fall in the cartoon look light. Not all the trucks make it, including one where some French dude talking about his wife, just miles from the fire, buys the farm as his truck's nitro load obliterates even the road they're on. In the end just one man carrying one case on foot makes it and the credits role, leaving the audience feeling like they were there for every mile of the rough drive.

I appriciate any feedback. I basically can name the whole movie just not any of the stars of title. It was one of the fun parts in my life where Dad says as the girls went out Xmas shopping, "hey, I saw this when I was a kid maybe you'll like it." I think it would be awesome to play and watch that movie ten+ years later with my Dad over the holidays especially given he has been fighting some health issues.

Once again I thank you for this odd request. Merry Xmas and happy holidays...

    Plot Summary for
    Sorcerer (1977)

Based on the French film Salaire de la peur, Le (1953), this production begins with the individual beginnings of outcasts of different backgrounds who are forced by fortune to work in a remote oil drilling operation in South America. When fire breaks out of control the outcasts are given the opportunity to earn enough money to get out by transporting two crates of unstable dynamite through miles of jungle in ancient trucks in this taut thriller. One stunt features two trucks attempting to cross a rope bridge over a raging river.
