I had my convertible top replaced about 3 weeks ago. They told me when I picked it up that it was tight and would stretch out over time. I’d like to know if those that have had theirs replaced did you experience the boots behind the driver and passenger not sitting on the deck lid? If so, did it eventually return to sit flush on the deck lid? If not, what is the fix? Also, there is a little hump in the center back of the top. The installer said there is a plastic membrane that is bowed that it causing the bump. He said they could cut out that portion of the membrane and that would fix the hump. Does anyone have a remedy for this. I’m including pics of both items.

I replaced my top and it was very tight but experienced neither of those issues.

you can leave it out in the sun for a full day and see if it improves but I think there is something not right there.

The top definitely does not look like its stretched out enough or that its really not installed properly. Did you pick up the car like this? If it looked good when you picked up the car, how long did they tell you you had to leave the top up so it can stretch? that center hump needs to be fixed it will wear out the top later or tear it. the top material looks really nice. Who did the job?

I'll leave it out in the sun for a day and see if that helps any.

If you manually push the boots down they return close to the normal position. The pictures are taken right after I mechanically closed the top. The driver side is a little stiffer than the passenger side. The installer said yesterday he is going to do some research to see if he can figure out the issue and get it resolved. They do a lot of top replacement and have lots of good reviews. I was referred to them by my mechanic whom I trust.

The center hump is soft to the touch. He said there was some type of plastic membrane in the top that he didn't see what the purpose was for it. He said it was bowed but could be cut out and it would get rid of the hump. We're both doing research to see how best to remove it.

The cables are not tensioned right, brand new canvas or not the buttresses should sit on the tonneau cover
