    Okay,

I'm not ready to buy, but all of the sudden a 308 comes up for sale in Lincoln. Could the "pros" on this sight please disect e-bay listing 330083268904. Please give me all opinons that might help. I'm new at this and don't want to make a mistake. I've asked the seller to let me come look at the car. I realize its been painted (yuck). But maybe the price will reflect it. Thanks for all help.

Probably a scam, pulled by the eBay cops.

Many of us traveled a bit to find the right car. Don't limit yourself to what's available down the street - there aren't that many good 308s left.

If you've got the Ferrari itch, you're not far from Motorcars in Springfield, MO. They get nice 308s on occasion, but usually focus on 328/TR/355/360.

    Thanks,

I added motorcars under my ferrari folder and will keep a "look out" for a 308 there. They have a very nice 328 coming in, but it is beyond my price range. Thanks again.

Pete, I agree that you shouldn't limit yourself to looking for a car in your immediate geographical area. It may take some searching over a wider area to find a good one. If you are new to 308s, be aware that there are some things that may not seem like a big deal that are in fact very expensive to fix. Glass for instance is very expensive and difficult. Thinsg that you would never think of like if the dashboard is in rough condition and needs to be replaced........total nightmare. There are certain parts that are very expensive (if you can find them) if they are missing. Don't let me scare you away as a 308 is a great car but make sure you know what you are getting into and are paying the right amount based on what the car needs.

Thats some good thinking - just about anything you need to know is in this website somewhere.

My advice is to research until you know just what model you want, then seek it out. Don't grab a 308 GTS because it's close if what you really want is a Mondial... you get the idea.
Good luck with the search! -m
