Help

Okay guys I need your help. The TCU band has entered in the CBS Hawaii 5-0 contest for bands to play the theme music. Over 20 colleges entered the competition. Only one other school in Texas entered and it is a small one. Several big schools were disqualified for various reasons so only 17 remain. And you all know our son J.J. is in his junior year there and is very involved in their music program. You can go online and vote one time a day until Oct 4 to help them win the contest.

The day they were going to film the entire show it stormed (7 inches of rain, remember) and they had to stay indoors. They ended up using the audio from the real on field indoor taping but used the video from the show they did last year when J.J. played the Hendrix Voodoo Child solo.(On the full band shots from the pressbox he is on the near 40 sideline just to the left and below the drum major directing the band. Standing there playing with a microphone all alone) The sound is good for a band that was marching quickly. Too bad they could not get the show filmed that they had put together to go with it. They were on a deadline of having the video submitted by Sept 19 and they only found out about it on the 12th and put together a show. Time just got away from them........

Thanks for the vote.....they need a lot of them. Notre Dame has a lot of Alumni and they are all getting emails asking for their votes. TCU is 1/4 the size so the voter base is going to be much smaller. That is why I am asking all the F/C folks to help out. We have strength in numbers here and a great group of people.

I just watched it for the first time since last year and I forgot how good the recording came through of J.J. playing the solo in the first piece. I had to put this up. This is the TCU Horned Frog Band performing in exhibition at the Irving ISD Band Festival last night. They perform every year to help start the school district off. This recording is pretty amateurish on the video side but actually sounds pretty good on the audio. And the show is FUN.
