OK. Looks like I may be screwed. Mine is a '98 and my build is 27676. Missed it by that much. 13 spots.

Does that mean that all builds before that number are the crappy bronze guides or that before that it could be either? I'm just over 30K miles and I don't see anything from the previous owners records that the guides were changed.

When I read the technical bulletin, is it possible Ferrari NA proactively upgraded this component in earlier cars? It provides instructions for earlier cars - ...'overhauled' - on the memo. Think about 1998 and the 355s still being new, surely they're not referring to high mile cars being turned in for engine re-builds.

    Anyone know?

From what I have read in the past, I wouldn't count on that build number to be "Golden". I believe that some of the 'old stock' got used on subsequent cars, but I think that some of the earlier cars were retrofitted under warranty. Ferrari of Atlanta did mine later when they had the car for resale.

I should run mine by the dealer for a print out of all of the warranty or dealer work that had been done to the car. I only have the service records back about 10 years on this car.

Duh! Of course, I can call the dealers - have all service records.
