Jimi hendrix is the trippers blanket and conductor! I love hendrix, his music is inspiring and ****in Legend! If there is anyone i REALLY wanted to see live hendrix is the one! Purple haze Defined a generation. Turn On Tune In Drop out! http://discosantigos.com/WallpapersMUSIC/Hendrix.JPG
I hear you man, was 12,000 miles away during woodstock, one of my regrets in life. Did get to go to Cream reunion though
I've got - Are You Experienced Band of Gypsys Jimi Plays Monterey And just for the hell of it, I've even got - Stone Free: A Tribute to Jimi Hendrix
And I've got about 125 Hendrix CDs + subscribe to two fanzines. You can guess that I'm a fan. Too young to have seen him live but just love the music. And his lyrics were quite good as well. I often wonder what music he would be playing if he were still with us. Nathan
Can you imagine Jimi and Stevie Ray trading licks together, like Stevie did with Albert King. That would have been amazing. Jimi changed rock and roll forever, at least guitar rock anyway. I feel Jimi was the better song writer/composer, but SRV was hands down a better player. I have pretty much everything both of them ever recorded. I'm a huge fan. I Appreciate, John
I was just listening to his music. It's a set performed by Neal Schon and Paul Rogers. If you haven't heard this already...BUY IT!
Ive met jimi hendrix, but i was on acid, does that still count? Jimi hendrix is best for trippin out!
I dont know much about Hendrix but I do know I like the music. The only CD I have is Experience Hendrix. But I play it all the time.
I used to have my computer set to wake me up to "All Along the Watch Tower". Really like his music, but I can't say I know a whole lot about him.
Saw and head Paul sing at the Seattle tribute concert...absolutely unreal. A few good guitar players there too with 7 or 8 playing together at the end.
I've had offers to buy the t-shirt off my back from that show and the ticket prices outside...holy jeezuzzzz. A great time had by all. A Hendrix freak friend of mine will still not talk to me when the subject of him missing the show comes up...Paul Rogers just lives down the road from me here in sunny B.C.
Anyone here an ex tripper? UNCLE Sid, Mushies?. i know bill gates did a lot of uncle sid in his time! hendrix and floyd No.1 Son no contest! Im annoyed by the lack of oldschoolers in my generation but hey im keeping it oldschool man! peace!
Rolling Stone did a pretty cool piece on him a couple months ago. I never get tired of hearing the story of how he was plucked out of the NYC clubs and taken to England and, within a week, had met the Beatles, Clapton and others.
As much as I love Led Zepplin and Jimmy Page, he isn't even on the same page (no pun intended) as Jimi or Stevie. His playing is very sloppy, especially on his solos. He is a talented player that experimented heavily with alternate tunings (ala Rain Song) and off the wall antics (played a Les Paul with a bow), but he is not in the same league as Jimi and Stevie. He is still an important figure in Rock and Roll history, a great player, and I like his music. John
IF YOU FEEL THAT HE DOESNT EVEN WEAR THE SAME SHOES AS JIMI OR SRV, WHAT ARE YOUR FEELINGS TOWARDS JEFF BECK ?? BRUCE
Love Jeff Beck. Saw him and Stevie on stage together in Philly in (I think) 1989. Awesome player. Don't get me wrong Bruce, I like Jimmy Page plenty, he just isn't in the same league in playing talent. Song writing is another story. He has some serious talent there and is on par with the best. He pushed the envelope with some of the tunings he used, etc. John
I HAVE A FRIEND, WHO IS CONSIDERED ONE OF THE BEST DRUMMERS IN THE WORLD, AND A COLLEGE ROOMMATE FOR 2 YRS, AND PLAYED FOR BOTH SRV AND JEFF BECK HE TOLD ME THAT JEFF BECK RAN CIRCLES AROUND SRV...HES OWN OPINION... I THINK JOHN LENNON AND GEORGE HARRISON WERENT GREAT PLAYERS BUT COMPLIMENTED EACH OTHER JUST LIKE CHARLIE WATTS AND RINGO STAR...THEY BOTH SUCK, BUT WORKED WELL WITHIN THE GROUP, AGREEDED?? I THINK PAGE FIT IN THE GROUP GREAT , AS JOE PERRY WITH AEROSMITH BRUCE
