LMAO! I was going to comment on whether anyone had found the title to the stolen truck he sold on a few years ago...the story was written up in the same auto magazine that had done a feature on the truck a short while before that.

I recently drove one of the MP4-12C cars, with normal brakes. It was nice and fast, and exciting to a degree. There was no turbo lag, which I had been worried about. The transmission was divine. Cornering ability was incredible. Torque within each gear was very impressive. Still, it was so easy to drive, so well done, that it felt a little uninvolving. The "turn knob to dial up suspension and engine performance" makes it feel a little too easy, too contrived, too sophisticated. Ultimately, I prefer driving at 8/10ths of what it is capable of, but being much more involved. I like being busy. In modern cars, yhe only thing to keep you busy is the ipod interface.

I don't think the car needs more power or acceleration. You would probably upset a well-balanced car like this by throwing horsepower at it. Rather, it needs to involve the driver more. These automated gearboxes and clutchless shifting mechanisms may be more efficient and more modern, but they take away from the enthusiast driving experience.

Yes please? I'm wondering if those here who are bashing John have any personal experience or are just repeating what they read on the internet, I'm very curious?? My point mainly being is all the bs about his supposedly 'underhanded actions' are nothing but heresay unless you have had personal dealings with him but mainly what does it have too do with the topic of this thread??

You don't need to have personal experience to say something relevant. In this case, though, yes, I am speaking from personal experience, as well as the experience of three friends. The guy is a crook, through and through.

Why would it be hearsay unless it's personal dealings? Surely the court judgments above speak for themselves. If that doesn't convince you, nothing will.

What it has to do with this thread is that it shows Hennessey's claims to be dubious, on several levels.
First, the performance gains he claims are most likely not true.
Second, even if true, it probably would not be an improvement, and would compromise some other aspect of the car's usability.
Third, chances are that you would not get what you paid for.
Fourth, your car might be parted out.
Fifth, you will have to fight long and hard to recover any money.
Sixth, good luck with your McLaren warranty after letting someone else rape the car.
