Hardly Driven!? BOTH seats need to be recovered, he fails to mention that it's a Euro model, there is a wire hanging from the bottom of the car toward the front, the rear bonnet does not close correctly on the left side, the battery cover is missing, the ash tray lid is rusted, they didn't bother to sand the air box cover B4 they painted it with the Krylon spray bomb, the radiator has a leak, they didn't bother to mask around the top of the radiator when hit w/ aforementioned spray bomb, bonnet shock has red, black AND green paint on it, the oil filler cap is rusted, all clamps are rusted, the windshield washer reservoir tank strap is rusted, the targa top is peeling, there's some sort of mold problem on the door panels, the generator light is crooked, he doesn't mention when or if it's had service or if everything works (A/C) and it needs a new clutch (as he admits). Check out the overspray on the info plate in the engine compartment! All in all a great buy for someone....remember "it won't last long."
You guys missed a couple of things. It has those highly desireable TRX wheels and it does not have an original speedo. Wonder how many miles it really has?
My guess is that it has been crashed, at least twice, both front and back. The left front fender touches the door at the bottom, the molding line down the left side is higher at the fender than it is at the door, the right front of the front bumper is either shimmed too far out or the left front is back, most likely of the two, and check out the grey primer under the front nose panel. The body line above the rear bumper is more waves than a line, and I didn't even mention the "pristine" interior. Can I pay for it with a two party out-of-state check from a closed account?

Also: - Rear decklid appears warped or at least doesn't close right - Tail light appear to point at different angles - Rear valence appears warped/mangled - Passenger door +/or fender hangs funny - Lots of overspray On the plus side: - Nice shiny black paint on the muffler - Oil filter looks clean - Flow through ventilation on driver's seat
It's valid for pre '80 cars. The standardized VIN didn't begin until 1980. You can see the actual VIN plate in one of the pictures. I notice he is using a Fram HP1. If I knew Ferrari's took standard Ford oil filters I could have saved myself a lot of money instead of buying a half-case of Baldwyn filters. This car brings up an interesting question. At what point is a Ferrari worth more in pieces than running? Personally, I wouldn't give more than about $12K for it and that would just be for the fun factor. There couldn't be any intention of fixing it up with the obvious major accident damage, trashed interior, and serious rust on a lot of the components. However, a lot of the parts look like they are salvageable. How much would a set of Euro turn signals go for? A decent front spoiler? Front hood and possibly fenders? Maybe one complete door? Headlight assemblies? Numerous interior, gearbox, and engine parts? At what price would this car make a good buy to throw a set of cam belts on yourself for $100, drive it until something major broke, and then sell the parts?
Now THAT speaks volumes! At least he has the original speaker grills. For those alone I'd buy the car.
Beater.....hate to see it happen, but someone will buy it....neglect it some more....then it will end up a parts car...sad for any Ferrari. This car has been on the slippery slope downward for a while now, by the looks of it. A few more comments: Did anyone notice that the screws holding in the passenger side speaker grill are sticking out over an inch? Also, the window crank cover is missing, and he must of used two bottles of ArmorAll and 6 rattle cans of Krylon trying to "dress up" various parts of the car....the horror...the horror! I can spot rust everywhere....this car has definitely been in humid FL for some time.
Yeah, but it's a EURO!!!!! It's worth 12-15 for the engine and other parts you could sell. Never mind. It's not a dry sump and it's a single dist. points car, not elec ignition. All that rust gives me the impression it's been in a flood.
When I first saw the post, I thought the guy was joking. It's been fun to read the F chatters reactions. Maybe the Krylon company could buy it to showcase their products?
....hardly driven, but sat in by lots of fat people with abrasive filthy clothing. Why hasn't this clown bothered to wipe the seats... ****!
