I also like the original color in Amaranto. They made 8 cars in that color and 35 cars in Grigio Ferro. Both gorgeous colors. 07826 was build Feb 74 and was a US spec car. I personally would have redone it in Amaranto, but I'm a purist. One thing I love about my 71 GT is that they only made 139 of them in Blu Scuro and it was made before they made any US spec cars. (other than 2 prototypes) SEP 71

A minor thing, from the driving video, looks like the tachometer/rev counter might need looking at.

Does the Registry authenticate that this is really a C and F car??

I've seen RoW cars converted to Flares at Auto Sport in Bastiglia. They were indistinguishable from an original.

The Dino registry was nothing more than a collaboration of notes and information, almost all driven by Denny Schue , and those who helped him and choose to participate. The problem with the registry, was the old garbage/garbage out dilemma.

Many years ago, there was no information available other than the Trainspotting method. If someone chose to fake it, It went into the registry not as a fake, but as a detail note. It is only until recently that this has been able to be more definitive.

years ago if someone was restoring a Dino, they could immediately add more value by adding flares and redoing the interior with chairs. I can’t tell you how many cars I have to put that that were clearly faked. Also remember even as recently as 20 years ago, it was not a lot of photography easily available or research that could be done. Now you can look at something and tell very quickly whether it even looks the part or not, back then you had no references available.

After seeing the first real flared car in person, I thought they were extremely goofy looking and I shied away from them. On top of the fact that there were so many botched jobs. Back then, flares were almost became a red warning sign of someone trying to make a quick flip On a fresh repaint calling it a restoration of an authentic car.

I agree with 375+, there are several companies that have mastered the look, just like they have become the favored places to repair damages and worn vintage Ferrari’s, heck, they can probably do it in their sleep.

Just like there are plenty of Daytona Spyder conversions, some nearly indistinguishable and more so for an inexperienced eye.
Same with numerous other brands/models, incl. MoPar Hemi cars and other big block conversions, Shelby Cobras/Mustangs, etc…

As some one on here says: “Of the original 50, only 75 still remain”.

Or when it comes to more “popular” cars, let’s say 1932 Ford Roadster for example, I’ve always said “Of +/-12000 originally built, several hundred thousand exists today (and more are added to those ranks daily)”
And same/similar could be said of most American muscle/sports car of certain era, dual cowl Duesenbergs/Packards/etc…

NOT a good idea to post a six year old, totally outdated and incomplete report.
And I haven't even mentioned the copyright infringement yet.
From a company like Fast Cars I expect a bit more professionalism.

As the end of the current BaT Dino auction nears I have a few observations:

    1. In the BaT driving and walk around videos the car is referred to as a 1973, not a 1974.
    2. It is interesting that the driver door jamb states “Manufactured by Ferrari on February 1974” which matches the actual factory completion date noted by Massini and Bartz. This was not true in the early days. It took a few months to complete the car after the door jamb date. Seems the factory caught up toward the end of Dino production.
    3. In the BaT detailing video a buffer is being used on the paint. Since this is a new car (2019) with new paint, I suppose that is OK. But I was just wondering if anyone would use a buffer on an original paint car. I can understand maybe a hand polish and wax to preserve the paint on an original car, but a buffer on original paint, I am not sure? Would you polish your 50 year old vintage watch? It’s all about the patina.
    4. The car is beautiful and I wish the bidders good luck.
