SOOO hard to say from ebay listings. Like all of them, you or someone you trust will need to look at the car, and you will need a PPI.

As for the cars themselves, I like #2 with the full red and the 355 wheels. Very sharp looking, though others will be fans of the full-stock thing. SEEMS to have the paperwork all in a row...

And the major on the #2 car appears to have been done 2 years ago at the 35k mark.

One of them still has 6 days left and already has 13 bids, it wont stay that low of price long. That guy is really smart to sell with no researve or high starting price. I have always sold my cars that way with no researve and low price, that way you get more bids. People are more likely to bid on a car with 20+bids then a car that has 0 bids. I never could unstand why people try to sell a car with a starting price of 45K, if they just put the thing for sale with a starting price of 10K then the bidding would take off and probably well past 45K. The first thing people think when they see a car with 0 bids is "whats wrong with it?", "why is no one bidding on this"

From your other posts, it sounded as though you might be concerned with Ferrari service/repair costs. While the prices on the early 348's are attractive, they aren't as sought after as later 348's, 328's and certainly 355's. They're perceived as less desirable and have a known list of issues (search this site).

The second car seems OK, and was serviced by the prior owner in California. However the award at some "local Texas car show" could be anything. I'd agree you need to see the car or, if you're serious, get it inspected locally. You could do well on the purchase price and then spend five figures on something that wasn't disclosed. The market for 348's with 40K miles is a thin one - there are many available with half that mileage. The "wife" reason for selling is cliche and I'd wonder why the car has started turning over so fast.

I happen to like the way 348's look, but unless the car passed inspection by a Ferrari expert that I trust I wouldn't buy an early 348 off of eBay as my first Ferrari. I'd go for a '93-'94 car and try to get one from someone on this board.

The first car appeals to me the most - original paint and wheels. These cars needed some mechanical 'updates' to address a few reliability/handling issues. I'd get schooled on what those were, and see if the POs had that work done along with the 30K service details. Of the 348s, the TS cars are my favorite.

Both cars look nice based on the pictures. The first one had "no major" body work done. I wonder what kind of body work was done? The word "major" can be a subjective term.

Whenever listings say "belts were replaced at X miles" BUYER BEWARE: This does not mean anything if that was done over 5 years ago. Count on having to replace the belts, seals, tension bearings and all that jazz. After that, you may have a nice car. If possible, I would also have a compression leakdown test performed. Check the cars out in person before handing them a check. Good luck, they are nice cars!
