Yesterday I parked my spider at the health club with the top down. Went home without incident.

Today I drove the minivan and parked in the same spot. Afterwards, when I stepped out of the club (around noon) the lawn sprinklers were on and my minivan was being hit everywhere by spray. If I had done as yesterday, my F-car would have an inch of water on the seats and carpet. I'll never park near an obviously irrigated lawn with the top down from now on.

Basic convertible awareness - never park next to greenery in a parking lot. The cheapest and best way to maintain lawns, shrubs etc is a sprinkler sstem

Another hazard is the guy mowing the grass with no grass catcher. I parked a BMW next to a grassy area one hot day with the windows down. I was greeted to a car full of grass clippings upon my return.

A good vacuum cleaner will take care of that. Inconvenient, yes, but nothing like flooding! ;)

Good point. I did leave the sunroof open on my truck (yeah, I know - real trucks don't have sun roofs) one night when a rain storm moved in. That was definitely worse than the grass incident.

I've done that a few times in my Vette. A little water doesn't hurt to much.
