    Had my first colonoscopy this morning. The prep is worse than the exam. The best part of the exam is that they knock you out, so I was able to get a little uniterupted sleep. They removed a couple of things, but all in all they said I look good. Of course I guess that depends on your view.

    The even better news is that I have great drives planned for Saturday and Sunday. Hopefully the drives will be much more fun than the last 24 hours.

    My manager's wife just had that this am. He had to take her to the GI doc's because of the drugs would incapacitate her to drive home. She had to drink gallons of laxative liquid stuff for 1.5 days with no food 48 hrs before the procedure. YOU?
    BTW: most folks seem to not remember the next 24 hrs after the proceedure. Lots of Versed in the cocktail.

    Laxative liquid stuff for about the last 12 hours before the procedure. I dose 6:00 p.m. the night before mixed with 40 oz. of fluid and then repeated this morning at 5:00 a.m. It was much tougher getting down 40 oz. of fluid this morning after spending most of the evening in the bathroom. No solid food, only liquids, from yesterday 2:00 p.m. That's okay I need to lose a little weight. I was told no alcohol until tomorrow, can't wait until after the drive.

    Actually I believe this is the reason they found blood in my stool and I had to have the test before the age of 50. I'm a cyclist and have had this issue for probably 15 years. No real soreness down there, just tired from not sleeping the night before.

    You've set the benchmark already with full color photos of your colon. In the future, anything less than video would be a letdown.

    Don't stray too far from a toilet until you know how your body "reacts". You'll know what I'm talking about if it hit you. I went out and had a big steak dinner a couple nights after the procedure - big mistake. Get something to replace the flora (or enzymes??) in your intestines that you have just washed out, or be prepared for a significant period of IBS.

    I agree. When I left the doctor this morning, I asked if I could get a DVD or at least some 8x10's or wallet size for xmas presents.

    They said I could eat what I wanted but to start with much smaller quantities. I agree with what you're saying and will start off slow.

    You're in film. Why stop there? Push for IMAX. I bet it would go over huge.
