Hermeus Quarterhorse Mk 1 first flight

1 yr from kick-off. Gotta love private enterprise when not encumbered by government micro-management.

 

Maybe I'm just a downer, but I'm not impressed. They put some wings and landing gear on a J85 and are remotely flying it just off the ground. Its not even the base engine that they are planning on using in the future. Its just like a scaled up version of any of a number of youtubers who do that with small jets.

Now if they can get the Mk2 flying supersonic this year, that will be supremely impressive.
