Its a 3500 GT with one-off Touring coachwork. Upon the appearance on one or two shows the car was sold to a German actor who was from Munich in the early 60ies. It appeared in a short-movie here. Its unclear if this car came on a 3500-chassis or the shortnened Sebring-frame. I assume the car was later sold via AUTO KÖNIG, the Maserati distributor for Germany who was also from Munich. A very interesting car! Not sure about the VIN of it. But I recall that we already discussed this car here! Ciao! Walter
A very nice nice design. Do you know if Giovanni Michelotti was involved? It looks like his style. Regards Marius
Could be possible. The front section of this car shows many similarities with the 5000 GT #018 that came from Ghia! Ciao! Walter
Yes Michelotti also worked for Touring, and I think Ghia. He was freelance for some years, and worked with several of the big design houses in Italy. He even did design for Japaneese cars in the 60ies. I think I see his pen in the beautiful 3500 pictured above.
Herr B. thank you again for your kind information. So the car is living in Germany still? Also, do you have any photos you could post of the rear of the car? I cannot find one in my archive. Ciao and best!
No, the car didn`t survive in Germany. I assume it was sold abroad. This photos are from the short-movie. Visible ate the standart 3500-dashboard. The car had Munich-registration M-L 946. Unfortunately German Police doesn`t keep their files when more than 20 years old. Ciao! Walter Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
This is the Touring design drawing of the very first Touring prototype. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes, but thats not the car in question here! But its surprising how good and precise Touring finallyrealised the car from the drawing. Ciao! Walter
