Can someone tell me if it's normal behaviour with 355's (2.7 motronic) that when coming off the throttle quickly and then gently applying throttle again there is a very slight "hesitancy" before the engine catches as if there is a milisecond delay until the fuel is "squirted" again..........my car has this annoying effect and even after a complete renovation of the 4 throttle chambers done off the engine and the butterflies balanced with a manometer I still feel this hesitancy................2 qualified Ferrari mechanics have told me that this is a normal fact of the 355 engine....I find this hard to believe............all other cars are just smooth with the gas............by the way.........once this initial hesitancy has passed the throttle is absolutely smooth and progressive.....like a sewing machine in fact...............it's just that first milisecond from closing the throttles to then opening them again..........any thoughts????

Have you check your fuel injectors, or fuel pressure regulators? You may want to get your injectors tested and tuned?

    Just a thought.

Mine is the same - I'm sure there are threads here explaining something about the vacuum and butterflies in the throttle

I experienced the same thing on my 355, also a 2.7 Motronic.

I have also noticed the same "dead band" on other cars, such as an 86 Mercedes 190E, and a 2004 BMW M3.

Must be a "feature" of Bosch fuel injection systems.

No such problem with the Daytona, though.

I'm not sure my wife will see that as justification to buy one sadly........

Are you perhaps suffering from the hugely notorious "sticky throttle" issue on the 355s? Try a search - there are a lot of threads on this. I had to spend $$$ and time to chase this down in my 2.7 355; it's not perfect, but it's worlds better.
