How modifiable is it and how much power can you get for what money?? Thanks guys.
One of the Euro magazines just had a 996TT tuning issue. I only glanced through it but it seems most of the cars were putting down 550 or so whp. Based on my knowledge of a few local owners my guess is you'll be into the car for another 50k to 60k beyond purchase price at least.
The 96 TT is not a 996 but a 993. From what ive read they are not as easily modified as the 996, but from what ive read they are still easy to mod. Everything from intercoolers to turbos to ecu's. They just cant run as much boost as the 996. As for the packages for 996TT running 60K, hardly. 14k will get you a stage 4 Evo kit, that turns i believe about 550 rwhp. I believe just a little more for the stage 4RGT, and your at 600rwhp.
Theres a kit (forget who though!) on the pistonheads site that has 600 HP and claims a 10.5 QM....pretty fast!
That's probably the Evo kit Allan mentioned. Not always sold for $14,000 though. I sell Evo products for 10-25% below MSRP.
Sorry about the misinformation. Don't know why I read that as 996. Also, the pricing I was referring to was for a whole host of things beyond the engine (body, brakes, wheels, cage etc) on a 996.
the 993 series turbos were indeed, the ultimate turbos imho...just that u need a way to cool the oil super well as it is the cars only means of cooling...other than air obviously..This is the first major upgrade, along with turbos and a bigger intercooler and ecu.
