Life long enthusiast and soon to be owner. I've lurked around the board for quite sometime but waited until now to register.

When I was 17 I bought a 1991 Toyota Turbo MR2, as it was the closest thing to a Ferrari that I could afford at that time. Fast forward 14 years and I still own it, love driving it, and cant wait to park a real pony next to it.

I'll be on the hunt for a 360 6spd spider very shortly, in either Nero or Nart Blue. My wife and I are currently building a home for our family and my Ferrari at the moment and should be done this fall, which is when I'll begin seriously looking to purchase.

I love that this board has simply shattered my original idea of the typical Ferrari owner. The diverse community that I have found at FC has done nothing but push me even harder to obtain my dream of owning an F car. I look forward to seeing everyone around!

Welcome. Enjoy the search and future ownership. Many years ago the biggest Ferrari fan I knew was my high school english teacher. He drove a Fiat X1/9 for the same reason you have your MR2. He'd had it for many years and the passion boiled in him as well. It's great to hear you are about there.

PS, Love St. Augustine. When I lived/worked in Lake Mary there were times a small group of us would ride up there for dinner on a Friday night after work if we got out early enough. It was a regular destination for many of us.

For fun here's a couple of pics of the 1991 Turbo MR2 with ~320 rwhp. It has been keeping me sane for the last 14 years until I finally get my real Ferrari at the end of this year :)

The first is after a quick wash at a friend's house, the next is a local SCCA track day my wife and I raced at. Side note, she's a damn good driver (regular first place finishes in her class) and required no convincing to purchase a Ferrari :D
