Hey Everyone!!! I'm relatively new on here after lurking for quite a while. My good friend Chris (SeFacHotRodder) got me on here after a while. Anyway, I'm new to the ferrari world but am definetally interested in getting to know all I can about the car/company. I'm just getting into the world of Investment Banking right now and am in the process of looking to purchase my first property/home (did I mention I'm 22 lol?). After that of course a high end auto is on the list. However I am looking for advice from the well informed users of this board; I doubt I would be able to afford/ justify the purchase of a new ferrari anytime soon. If I were to begin looking for a used model, say F430, would it be more beneficial to look for one at a Ferrari Dealer, Non-ferrari High end dealer, or auction? I do have a very close friend in the high end business so I am fortunate enough to be able to purchase at near auction price but is that necessarily the best route?? MY timeframe for purchase is within the next 5 years or so, meaning I have plenty of time to absorb all that this board has to offer!

Rather than looking forward to what may be written, I think you'd benefit greatly by looking at past writings on this subject. This board is rich with observations, musings, and advice from other enthusiasts. Many will tell you to work toward other, more important goals as a person who's a young adult. Good advice, in my view.

But in any event, let me welcome you to FerrariChat and say that I hope your enthusiasm for Ferraris never wanes.

Why wait 5 years to buy, essentially, a Ferrari computer (F430)? Save up $60K, buy a nice TR, get the hang of F-car ownership, and upgrade in a few years to the car of your dreams. If you're doing well as an investment banker, maybe by then you will have discovered the rest of the F car universe and chosen a truly special car. Like a Daytona. Or a 330 GTC. Stand out from the rest of the snots with more money than taste. Imagine that first weekend you head to the Hamptons in your Euro-spec, type-A engine Daytona with a weekend duffle bag and girlfriend. You'll feel like a king.

Most importantly - ignore people like me. Buy the one that makes you sweat, grin and giggle. Plenty to choose from that do that. Without computers driving the car for you ;->

Believe me, it's worth it. The reality is better than the dream.
