I've been lurking for the last few weeks and am amazed at the wealth of valuable information found here. Unfortunately I wish my questions could be a little more challenging but I'm afraid most will find these very basic. So if I may,

My car was purchased at the local Penske Wynn dealership about 3 weeks ago and appears to be in excellent condition. I am out of town at least one week of every month. I was wondering, should I use a battery tender or simply turn the knob in the front compartment (as I have done now). The car will probably never go more than a month without driving and temps in my garage will probably never go below freezing. I am somewhat concerned with keeping a big battery under power while I'm out of town. I even unplug my laptop. Should this be a concern? Are there issues with turning all power off to all systems for a week at a time, computer re learning etc.?

Any issues with keeping the roof down? Wrinkles etc? Is it better to just keep it up?

Any recommendations on the best way to clean/protect the plastic rear window?

    Thanks,

    Bryan.

Hello Bryan ! Congrats on your purchase !
I bought my car F1 Coupe 07 2 weeks ago so i am a novice also but i've spent some time reading ahead.

I'm keeping my car on a tender in my garage, it's an optimate 6 and i've used their adaptor to hook it directly to the battery and i only need to connect a switch to charge it. It's a very elegant solution and it's designed to work like that for long periods of time.

I did check the car from time to time i have to admit, since it's new to me and i am a bit paranoid so i can understand your fear about leaving it like this but it should be fine :)

Regarding the soft top i've read that it is better to leave it on. I don't know why but that's what i've seen.

You can clean the plastic window with Meguiar's plastiX or Renovo products. Also you should seal your soft top with something like this

Better to leave car on tender than constantly cut off the power. Computers loose their adaptive values and have to re-learn them. Modern tenders are perfectly safe to remain plugged in 24/7.

Store with roof up, keeps the cloth nice and stretched and wrinkle free.

What a beauty!!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing photos.

These cars are very sensitive to voltage fluctuations thus its highly recommended you leave it plugged in to a battery tender when not in use so that it always retains a full charge.

Roof: When I go for a drive its always down.
When parked in the garage I put it up to straighten out the fabric.

Apply 303 roof protectant to protect it from water and moisture and it deepens the color of the fabric too.

    Drive safe!

Lovely looking car, the exact spider version of my berlinetta - but there again judging by your location you do have the weather!!

As others have said - leave the car hooked up, it will be fine and always fresh for when you return.

    Enjoy!!

Wow. You have great taste...esp on color choice ;-)

Buy at tender from ferrari on eBay. I paid about 200 for a used one. Keep top up as much as you can so you don't get rinkles. With plastic rear window, I just use windex.
