Just wanted to say hey. I'm an aspiring Ferrari owner from Toronto :) Planning to get a 360 Spider within the next two years or so. Currently drive a 350Z. Just bought it actually. Not even close to what some of you guys drive but hey, i'm working on it :)

Welcome. A guy in the Ferrari Club of America here in Toronto has a 350Z. He takes it to the track and beats up on it. Very fast car.

Speaking of which, what track would you recommend? I've never been to one, but it would be great to take the car for a spin there if there's another warm weekend.

Best to start offf with Shannonville or Dunville as they are foregiving - lots of run off araes and no WALLS or barriers

Welcome to F-Chat! I recommend using the street as your track, just get yourself a good radar detector!

I got mine from an internet site in the States (can't remember which one) and they actually shipped it to Canada without any problems.

Glad you obviously took it as a joke. Again, welcome to F-Chat, and yes, I should point out that you shouldn't race your car on the street.
    Happy Bernie?

Fair enough...happy (and safe) motoring. :)

P.S. I did in fact wonder if you were being serious, since I've never seen that kind of advice being given by the regulars in the Canada section of F-Chat.

My apologies if jumped to conclusions.

No worries, I should have made it more clear that I was joking. Happy motoring to you too! :)

Yes and no. I'm not about to start doing 250 on the 401, but i still need a radar detector. I just bought the Z, and it happens to be bright red. We all know how much cops love brigh red sporty 2-seaters. *shivers*

Mr Corp - you should go to the track day at Mosports DDT this week on Thursday. PM me and Ill put you in touch with the organizer.

Its an absolutely perfect environment to get introduced to the track. Safe as you can get with excellent instructors and TONS of track time.

It would really be the ideal intro to the track.

It is NOT on the big track, its the DDT that Bridgestones F2000 cars use.

Seeing as how you've never been on a track, I sure hope not! :D

FCA (Ferrari club) has about 3 or 4 track days a year at Mosport, you will be placed in the green group (non-Ferrari) or the white group (novice Ferrari)which means you are limited to 160 km and passing only on the straights. You are given an instructor for the day and in class sessions in between being on the track. For the white and Green groups all you need is an SA95 or higher rated helmet. Price is about $300-400 which includes everything. Instructors are great and it is a very safe outing. I highly recommend it, but you must be a member of the FCA or an invited friend to run in the Group. Next year...

Thanks for the invite man, but that's a little too short-notice. I've got a ton of work, and trip to Montreal the day after. Do they have a website where i can learn more about the future events?

P.S. Any other suggestions? I'd like to have a track i can visit regularly (every week or two) without spending a lot of money.
