Last week I did a rear brake job on my 308 2v. After putting it down from the jack I put good torque on the bolts with a 4way lug wrench. After watching the NASCAR race on Sunday and seeing that wheel and tire go across the track into the side of that camper I thought about checking my lugs again. I drove it about 125 miles over the past week after the brake job. Checking the lugs last night and found all of them would take another 1/4 turn or so. A couple perhaps a little more. The fronts were good and tight but I had not removed those so I guess they were seated. Just FYI Joe

Your right! A friend of mine went to the track with his 4way lug wrench and found a number of lugs on different cars that needed tightening.

The correct practice is to re-torque lug nuts on alloy wheels after about 50 to 100 miles.

If you use a bigger 4 way lug wrench you'll probably find another quarter turn or same thing if you have some broad-shouldered, muscle-bound, steroid-laced guy tighten things for you. It's not what you want. Like B.T. said.... torque wrench. Let me add that it must be a decent quality wrench and the correct procedure must be used or it's all meaningless.
