    Hello Ferrari friends:

Hey, that's my car! This vid was taken by friends at a recent 928 get together. I also received some better quality vids (see below).

First, here's another burnout I did; same vid quality but a smaller file (2.6MB). The guy following me got a bit lost in the cloud.
    http://www.billsworkshop.com/P928S4/supercharger2.MOV

Here's a better quality version of the first burnout from another camera. 3.4MB file. Will require DivX codec. If it does not run, get the codec pack below the vid link.

Codec pack (pick the BASIC pack listed first):

When bone-stock, this 1989 928 S4 automatic wouldn't do much of a burnout and was trapped at 165 MPH, although that was at 6000 feet. Then I put on a simple non-intercooled 5 lb blower. Now, it blows by 170 with RPMs and boost to spare. We have several 928 owners who have produced SC kits, and turbo kits are under development. Mine is the least impressive of the S4's that have been SC'd, as I am only at 342 RWHP and 345 RWTQ, but the torque is available right away off idle. There are a number of SC'd 928s at well over 400 RW and some at 500. I will freely admit that my car is non-limited slip, so it spins the stock size 9 inch wide rear tire(s) rather easily. I just rolled out onto the street and hit the throttle. I let off early on the shorter burnout. I need some much fatter tires to make better use of the torque. Still, I'm pretty happy with what it does for a 16-year old, 152K mile car that I drive daily and bought for $16K five years ago. These cars in stock form are fun and easy to drive at 165-170 in the Nevada desert (legally in an open road race). We have had some over 200, but that requires a few mods. Anyway, we are just having a little fun with these old doctors wive's cars.

    Bill

To all my NE Fchat friends,

Bill Is one of the most knowlegeable and helpful 928 owners there is. He has helped me out with his depth of knowledge more than once. As things get around the net, my 928 buds found out about this thread and not knowing who racerx is, they thought the 928 was being dissed. "Fat & Lazy" being a derogatory term towards 928's.

After i cleared it up, Bill showed his true nature and posted above. I hope you all can enjoy a little car fun.

Oops. I'm only at 334 RWHP, not 342. Too late to edit. Oh well, the intercooler I just received should take care of that.

There are 2 super sharks here in MA. They have the best engineered and most powerful kits. Once in a while we here about sl amg's being surprised by them. This kit has dynoed at 525 rwhp and 485 rwtq. These mods are designed for reliability and longevity as the 928 engine will often go 250K+ before needing any overhaul.

Regardless of power they are just a hell of a lot of fun to own and drive because they do everything well.

I like this photo of 2 928 super sharks cruising the wisconsin highways shortly after they trounced a yamaha YZF-R1.

Ok.. I'm sold. I LOVE sleeper cars. I can't tell you how many dropped jaws I've gotten with the E55. Who knows, it's a four door!

So if I pick up a 928, what needs to be done next? And can it be done here in MA? And where are the aftermarket body mods?

What years/options are the best? ya mind telling me which one to go after and what top price should be? Unless you know of any locally... This would make a fun winter project... sory for all of the questions :)

    Don't buy off of ebay!

Do you like to work on your own cars? (my guess is no(time), so get to know david lloyd at musante motorsports in south windsor, ct.)

Go to Wilhoitenterprises.com. Nothing but satisfied customers and the best 928's on the market.

For supercharging get an S4, for stock get a gts because a euro is way too difficult for non 928 junkie.

If not wilhoit get PPI and thorough history. A lot are cheap to buy, but expensive to own and repair.

Mileage is not that important as they are built to last!

    Options- full leather int., LSD

worry about the body mods after you look at it in garage for a while.

I had a mediocre experience with him. Not anything really bad, but my 993 was a needy car when I received it.
