i have not been able to see or access linked FerrariChat threads for some time. by that i mean if someone refers to an old thread with a link, i am treated as if i am a unlogged guest on the linked page. this is very annoying.

sorry if this is in the wrong place, but i am unsure where the heck to put it. move the thread as you guys see fit, but i am wondering if others Rossa / Silver are having the same problems.

if i try to log in on the linked page it says my user name is invalid.

i was in the Scissor lift thread and i cannot see any of the linked threads or pics.

links that i have made in the past work fine for me.

    just thought someone should know.

I have the same problem regarding having to resign in. Unfortunately, I forget my password sometimes and it makes it difficult.

i know the feeling. thing is, i am signed in as me on the page i am viewing, and when i try to go to a linked Ferrarichat page, its like i am a guest. it will not accept my username or password, which works fine the rest of the time. may be just me, but i wanted to say something.

i am not looking to make trouble, just let the powers that be know about it.

I always thought this was because the threads referred to were in subscribed sections only ... so it happens to me as well.

i think you are on to something!! the second link will show the text, the ads on the Ferrari Chat page, but it asks me to log in to go to the next page or see any pics. then it says i am not a valid user.

great catch on the link addresses!

Look at the URL in your browser. Are you logged in under ferrarichat.com or www.ferrarichat.com?

If I type ferrarichat.com and then log in I can see both pages. However, if I use my favorites link which goes to www.ferrarichat.com and log in, I can only see the first page. No idea why that would matter, but for some reason it does.

Both links worked fine for me, Using IE7, logged in under www.ferrarichat.com

I think it may have to do with how the ither guy is looged in. If he's in with the IP address instead of www.ferrarichat.com, or if he ran through bestemployee instead.

I get the same issue occasionally, but not with either of those links.

And yes, it's a pain to remember those passwords, that's why I use roboform. Free, and very nice at remembering all the stuff I always forget. With roboform, I only have to remember one password, the one for roboform.

    google it. nice app.

If you're logged into www.ferrarichat.com and someone posts a link from www.thebestemployee.com or www.ferrari101.com (or the actual URL #, which I don't remember off-hand), when you click on the link, you'll see that you are not logged in (look in the upper right corner). If it happens to be a link to a subscribed forum, then you will immediately get the "You are not logged in" screen.

Log in to BOTH a thread with the "http://www.ferrarichat.com/ ..." AND a thread with "http://ferrarichat.com/ ...". They seem to be two different "domains" as far as logon credentials go and it has been this way for a loooong time. Quite annoying. I usually have to go back and correct the URL by putting in "www" on linked pages, but it looks like logging in to the non "www"-prefixed thread links, and clicking "remember me," should do the trick (until you clear your browser's history / cookies).

yes, it is to do with cookies and the domain. the cookies which tell your browser you are logged in are only valid for the domain you logged into, the browser considers www to be a separate website to just ferrarichat. easiest way is to just log in to all varieties, as it doesn't seem the admins will be changing the site so that you get redirected to the www or sans www always. for eg on my site i set it up so that all requests to www.aussieexotics.com go to just aussieexotics.com, i like it better that way.
