How was it on Conan O'Brien?

 

Conan did a skit with his Taurus SHO and he brought it to a high end car dealer/collection in NYC -- happened to show that Dino in a pan of the cars they had in stock. It appears its the same dealer selling the car on ebay.

 

Yeah, I saw that bit. Nice of them to let him park his Taurus on the 'turf - and have him decked out in a Ferrari racing suit.

 

I thought about taking a run at that car. The dealer scares me. I talked with the owner last year about a 365/GTB and he is a nice guy but there was something I couldn't put my finger on about this guy that bothered me.

Anyone have experience with this dealer? Know anything about them?

I am pretty sure that this car is the same one that was for sale for about 2 years in Ft Lauderdale Fla. I have the serial #s written down someplace. It had been painted a different color in the past & had a marginal paint job for the $$ they wanted at that time. It was for sale (forever ) for 93 grand or there abouts. If anyone is serious on it let me know & I will dig up my notes. I am not 100% certain as this car has red carpets & the one I saw had black. but i sidentical in every other respect. I have been to the dealers shop in NYC. They have been around a long time. It is easy to check. Good luck

 

I drove this car about a year ago when it was for sale at Motorcar Gallery in Ft. Lauderdale. At the time, it was listed for $85,000. The paint was O.K., but it seemed to run pretty well. The engine had good pull and the syncros were great except for 2nd gear (a bit stiff). The interior color isn't the most attractive I've seen (just my opinion) and wasn't in fabulous shape (I've seen much better on other dinos). I questioned the low mileage also by pedal and interior wear.

The guys who have it for sale now are listing it for $125,000! This is a huge mark up for what they got it for less than a year ago (probably around 80,000). IMO this car is not worth even close to $125,000. If I were seriously looking for a dino, I would pass this one by, unless they dropped the price about $50,000.

Very old post from May 6, 2004. My how times have changed! Where is this Dino now?
