Hey Guys, So I installed the HGTE pack on my 599, minus the exhaust upgrade. The only problem is that now I can't stop thinking about whether I should get the exhaust done or not. So I guess my question is for those of you who have heard/experienced the exhaust note of both standard and HGTE cars. Is it worth the upgrade? In what way does the sound differ at different revs etc. Thanks in advance gents, Shane
I have experienced the 599 with the standard exhaust, Tubi, then the Tubi came off to fit thre HGTE kit. Will try find a clip of that the various set ups sound like but I must be honest the HGTE kit is much better than standard but not as loud as the Tubi, which at certain revs would boom and rattle windows rather too much. The HGTE exhaust adds much more to the lower middle range and is definately louder at the top of the rev range to. Me, I would add it based on the sound and the fact the system looks better than the standard set up.
Shane- The factory HGTC/HGTE exhausts sound great, but are very expensive to retrofit except when they are offered as kits, like the HGTE exhaust is right now. I have an HGTC exhaust on my 575M, know others with HGTC exhausts on their 612s, and would jump on the HGTE exhaust like a chicken on a June-bug if I were you while you can get it at a bargain price. If I had to buy my HGTC exhaust from Ferrari, it would cost $13K because there is no kit available like the HGTE kit. Go for it. Taz Terry Phillips
