    Hi Guys,
My factory stereo unit is locked due to turn of the battery for a while. I can bring the car to Ferrari Service Centre to see if they can unlock it. But it will take me several weeks to wait.
Now I am considering if I should change the factory stereo to a new after market good stereo units with CD since my factory one only come with radio.
By doing that, will it affect any wiring of the alarm of my F360 if I only change the stereo units?

I am not sure if it runs through the radio or not, but do you have the code for the radio? If so and the sytem is locking you out, there are some threads that I will see if I can dig up here on how to reset it!

    here you go... http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=189225&highlight=radio+code

    The radio is purely analog.

The alarm system is purely digital.

There is no interplay between the two.

You can contact Ferrari w/appropriate info on your car to get the code or look on e-Bay etc for a 360 sale radio that has the code. There have been many offered.

replacing the stock radio with an aftermarket radio is not a good idea.... it cheapens the car and makes it less desirable when you eventually decide to sell it.

    Come on please!

Since when is the value of a Ferrari centered around its radio!

    That is ridiculous.

Vicktor, do what you feel is best.

Thanks, guys. Yes, my concern is if I need to pay fee to restore the code for my radio, then I will rather use my money to buy a new Stereo.

If that's a stock stereo(becker?) then you can fill out a form on their site to get it reset, I think its $35 .

It is a stock stereo. But I don't know the serial number which I expect I need for registration. So anyhow, I need to bring to Ferrari Service to uninstall the unit before they can try to find the code. This will take time and costly.
If I can spend $15K for a brand new aftermarket stereo plus a set of new speakers, then I will prefer to change it.

The code is in your books. Look through the booklets and you should find a 4 digit code.

I wouldn't spend more money on a stereo. The engine is the best music when driving. The engine is quite loud which makes an expensive stereo a waste of money because the sound quality is always compromised.

Save the money for the repairs and service! Trust me on that one!

Also when you decide to sell your 360, a fancy aftermarket radio doesn't bring any more money for the car.

Subjective. But for those who agree just retain factory head unit and everyone's happy.

    Victor,

The nobs on my factory unit were not workig to my satisfaction so I bought a new unit on eBay. It came locked. i called Becker and they were amazingly nice. I thought they were going to grill me regarding ownership but no questiones asked. I supplied a number on the back of the unit and I hd it unlocked in 30 seconds. Much much easy that I expected. Call them first before doing anything else.

I looked into getting my system upgraded but everythign I considered was around the factory unit. IMO I have not seen a unit that comes close in loooks to the factory unit. I have decided I will only do mods you cannot see (speakers, hidden sat reciever). Just my 02.

Just as Bora and I discussed the factory unit is great as long as you can live w/o the convience features, i.e. bluetooth, satellite control, iPod, etc. There is no reason to change it unless you are looking to have dedicated control these features. From an audio standpoint the radio features full-range 4V outputs via a DIN connector which makes it great for adding amplifiers.

Very easy to remove with the two metal fingers about 4" long that should be in your manuals.

In sert them and the unit will pull forward.

Remove the 3 colored plastic plugs and the antenna line and the unit comes right out.

    Takes 5 minutes.

The reverse is simple w/o the two metal fingers.
