Hi, I'm Lisa and I've been a lurker on Ferrari Chat for quite a while. I've been a long-time admirer of the marque, my intial interest from following Formula 1 back in the 80's. One thing led to another until now I'm completely beyond reform; I'm afraid if there were some sort of certification for "Ferrari Nut" I'd have a super license.

So, after years of interest, I'm currently in the process of finding the "right" Ferrari to add to the stable. I've scoured the model specific forums looking at the strengths and weaknesses of each car. Having to decide between one or the other is almost impossible, but given my budget and how much I intend to drive the Ferrari, I think I've decided on a 308/328 or Mondial T. It will be a stored inside in my climate-controlled garage, routine maintenance done by me when possible, and driven often. I don't intend to concours the car but I want a respectable example. Color not important.

There's a lot more homework that I need to do before I buy but I feel like I'm headed in the right direction by hanging out here and learning from the wealth of experiences shared on F-Chat. I'd also like to meet some of the D/FW members at some point and will keep an eye on the local area forum.

    Welcome!

    *whew*

Just finished putting things away from the Trail Ride.....

Did you want to test drive one of mine??

What did you say in the other thread?
I have been away for the weekend.......

Do you have a use for the 2 + 2 seating of the Mondial??
If so the 308GT4 also offers that, and is available from the "early years" like my crabed cars.

Thanks very much for the offer, that's very generous. I might take you up on that soon but I need to do some more research first.

I don't mind the 2+2 configuration so a Mondial or 308GT4 would be fine. My main concern is just finding a mechanically very good car so I can enjoy the experience and not be worried about unexpected repair bills. Maintenance and repair expenses are factored into the budget but I just don't like surprises on the money front.

Hey Lisa, welcome to F/Chat. From your list I would choose the 328 as I always enjoyed driving mine. Sadly I did not keep it but still admire 328's when I see them on the street.

Welcome Lisa. You may also want to post in the DFW section, as there are quite a few folks in DFW that post daily. There is a well-known member down in San Antonio (Russ, username SNJ5) who is currently selling his Mondial 3.2 - it was featured in Forza. If you are interested in Mondials, you might check out his posting in the classifieds.

Thanks for the welcomes. And thanks for the tips on local cars, I fully intend to buy a Ferrari from an F-Chatter if at all possible.
