    Hey guys, I just thought I would share who I am so I'm not a total stranger. I just joined today, have read some threads on here though since I found you a few months ago. I have to say, lots of great stuff here. Sorry, I don't own a Ferrari, wish I did, I am only a poor 18 yr old with an old 1988 535i 5 speed, which is still a fun car. I've always loved Ferraris, hope to get a decent job out of school and afford to get one someday. I know I will get abused for this, haha, but I love the 365 GT4 2+2/400/412. I live in Merton, WI, and I just graduated Arrowhead High School. I have been to GT Motorsports, funny since now I see that Alan is on here, and I just saw his widebody 308, beautiful car. What a coincidence. Alan, if see this, I'm the guy that came in today asking if I could work there, lol. I know there are lots of kids that like to join forums just to be a pain in the a$$, but let me tell you I'm not, haha. I love cars, always have, guess it started when my parents would give me Motor Trend to shut me up when I was a baby, something happened. :) Hopefully I can contribute in some way, and it's great to finally see a place where they talk about F1. If you read this far, thanks, and hopefully I'm not just wasting space.

    Welcome! You will find a lot of cool information here on every model in the line, and no one (well, almost no one) rips on people for liking any particular model of Ferrari on here, as hey, they are all Ferraris and so they are all cool in thier own way.

    Stick around and ask for advice on things now and then, and I am sure you will enjoy being a member of Fchat. Great bunch of guys, and a few ladies too who love the cars and all kinds of cars too. If it makes you feel more at home, a few of us have BMW's as our daily drivers. Mine is a 1997 M3/4. Again, welcome and have a great time learning about the best marque on the planet.

    Let me tell you something... if I were 18 and I had a 10 year old BMW, I'd have been over the moon! It beats the 24 year old Plymouth I bought off a little old lady for $300 for my first car when I was 16. So, be happy. I was.

    Anything is possible as long as you don't give up.

    Thanks guys, seems like a great place already. Actually, it's 20 years old, but whatever they didn't change much, haha. I really do love it, sounds great, handles great, and is fast enough to get me into trouble so it's gotta be good right? ;) Oh and btw first name is Evan, easier than evanmcm lol.

    Well, I've heard some people (not here) really say how much they hate it, haha. I know it's not beautiful like a Daytona but it's so clean and edgy. I think I'm fairly mechanically oriented, a couple weekends ago I helped one of my friends pull the tranny out of his Datsun 1200 race car, that was fun, lol. Also had to swap the water pump on that car, not too hard really once you get the radiator out. I love mechanical stuff, guess that's a good thing when you've got an old car, haha.

    Haha, I wish, if I knew someone with an FXX I would spend a lot of time at their place, lol.

    It feels fast, that's for sure, lol. It kinda sounds like a Ferrari, does have half a v12, haha. :)

    I'm going to Valparaiso in the fall, but not sure for what yet. Undecided between engineering and business. I really am having a hard time deciding, kinda ask myself do I want to be the guy that designs fast cars or owns fast cars, haha. Always liked watching the stock market, and don't mind doing business calculations for school projects, so I might be leaning towards business. Hopefully I can make up my mind soon.

    Hi Evan,
    When, like you, I was also about 18 years old and poor, I saw & heard for the first time a Ferrari being driven vigourously. It was a 275GTB - I just stood there by the roadside listening to this thing being redlined through the gears as it disappeared into the night. It was magic. From then on, I knew I had to own a Ferrari one day. Welcome.

    Oh man that must've been amazing, the only time I've heard a Ferrari really be opened up was watching the F430 GT cars go around Road America a couple years ago. Hopefully I'll get to see one on the street being opened up, that would be great.

    as far as I'm concerned, 365GT4 2+2 owners may be the geniuses of the Ferrari world; they get the best sounding Ferrari v-12 ever (essentially the same engine as in the 365GTC/4 - 4.4 liter w/ 6 sidedraft Webers) cloaked in a sleeper Pininfarina body, and get to scare three of their friends all for a tiny fraction of the cost of most other Ferraris.

    Hopefully you have already found the 365GT4 2+2/400/412 forum on this site.

    I'm close to your age, so I'm sure my advice *may be* helpful. But really do what your heart says. Don't go towards money. Go towards something you enjoy doing. Unfortunatley, I can't say that I've found something I enjoy, but if you keep looking, you'll find something. Good luck in school, study hard. Remember that you can always change your major, and you'll still be on track, since most credits can transfer into electives, and you won't be behind, or you can Major/Minor in something.
