They are there but NONBOY seems to know ... and to care .... ;)

I was looking for a way to get power to my navigation system without long cables near the shifter.

Was already thinking of getting the radio aout and tap power there somewhere.

Then, suddenly, my eye caught an iron round hole behind the wife's mirror ...

What was it ? A fixing or mounting ? No !!!

Is looked like a socket ... but what on earth for a plug could get the sparks out of there ...

I found the emergency light of Ferrari which has a plug of the '60's .... and it got power !

I connected one of them to a modern socket with also 2 x 5v USB socket .... and 2 x cigarette plug (for handy) !

No more need to mess around behind the dash or radio ..... bu nobody ever told me .... and the fix was less than $ 10,00 ..

So, just FYI these pic's !!

when I put out my complete dashboard I also have seen this connection and thaught would be good for navigation system. so you have been a little faster melvok.

but I would not say "hidden socket" because when you open the case you just see it. so not really hidden

i tried your approach for my radar decector power cord

i became concerned about closing the glove box door with that plugged in so i removed the glove box rear cover which gave me access to the wire going to the plug. i soldered in a tap where i installed an in-line fuse.

    worked out well

use the term "trouble light" ( search titles only ) and some old threads should come up in the TR, bb512 and 308 sections as this has been discussed before, and its a good thing to be aware of. I think there is a Ducati power socket that is the same.
