Refurbished the license plate lights the other week, didn't think of taking pictures until half way thru the job, so no before & after pics. Noticed a sticker with the VIN located up under the rear overhanging lip that the lights are mounted to. It is about 6 inches to the left of the lights. In the almost 4 years that I've had the car, I never noticed it, and only found it now because I was working on the lights. It looks the same as the VIN sticker I have on the front bonnet, has a bunch of Ferrari words as background script with the cars VIN printed down the middle. I guess it makes sense that it they went thru the trouble to mark the front bonnet, they would do the same to the rear one. Started looking around and found more stickers on each of the doors front jams, near where the light switch is for the door lights. All have the same number, so I guess my car has its orginal bonnet and door panels. Pics are of the front bonnet sticker, the flash washed out the lettering but you can see where it's located. Anyone know if there was any standardization to the placement of these stickers or just where ever the workers happened to place them?

my euro QV does not have them.

    seems like a cool idea.

dealer installed and added as a "anti theft" mark up perhaps?

My '89 has these VIN stickers too...I think that's a way to tell if a 328 still have the original body pannels on it. I was careful not to damage the stickers when cleaning.

Maybe "All matching numbers" means something in the 328's. These stickers with VIN number might be hard to duplicate.

This reminds me of a friend who was working on his 308. He removed the radiator and was getting to repaint it. As he was removing the old paint, he saw a painted over sticker. He worked very carefully removing the paint to save the sticker. When he was done, the sticker said something like "Joe's Radiator Repair, Gary, IN".

I believe those decals are standard on any car sold in the U.S. starting around 1987 or 88. Every major removable body panel has one.

My euro 328 from Germany has the VIN hand ENGRAVED on every single body panel. The glass is also etched with the number. I was told it was a euro (spec. Germany) thing.
