Hi, I am new to the forum. I am looking at getting a F355 in the next 6mo. I am 6'4" tal and about 200lbs. Does anyone know if i will even fit in the car? Most importantly is the height issue head and ceiling. I am going to get a GTS but if I don't fit then I need to choose a different model.
    Thanks,

I sold my 355 Spider. As I recall, it had a little more than an inch of extra headroom (I'm approximately 6'). I think that 6"4"" will be tight. Tim

My son is 6'3" and 200 Ibs. the 355 is tight for him. I'm not sure you would be very comfortable. Try to find one to sit in. Regards, Vern

I was just riding in a couple of F355s yesterday. One with standard seats and one with sport seats. I'm 5'11" and I fit perfect in the one with standard seats, but I only had a couple of inches of head room in the one with sport seats. I know that you can adjust the seats some, but I still think 6'4" would be too tall.
You better sit an a couple before you buy one. I know it sounds crazy, but believe it or not, some people actually will buy a Ferrari without ever sitting in it first. :)

I've sat in a 348, 355 and 360 with no issues, at 6'5" The 355 and 348 were both spiders, but I experienced top-up driving and didn't notice any problems. Of note, I sat in Roland's F40LM (Modified to fit his size) with no issues. I was awfully excited and quite distracted by the experience in each situation though. As recommended previously, you should probably give it a test sit before you commit yourself. The 360 definitely had the most room, so don't rule out F-cars altogether just yet.

    Oh, 6'5" 240~lbs

at six feet four inches (same as me) the 355 will be snug for sure. the f-1 will be your only option. i have to sit bow legged to sit comfortably in mine, and in the six speed your knee would be leaning right against the shift knob.

The question really becomes how long are your legs and torso. Height alone will not provide you with the answer regarding head and legroom.

I am 6'2" tall and fit comfortably in a stock coupe.....however on the track with a helmet on this is obviously no longer the case.
The helmet requires a minimum of 2" more head room.

What I did was remove the stock lower seat cushion (easy), remove the stock foam and replaced it with 5 LB memory foam.

On the cosmetic side, you cannot tell the seat has been modified.....but sit in the car and you sink 2.5" in the seat......providing a huge amount of head room.
With a helmet on, I still have aproximately 3/8" 'head' clearence.

As for comfort? Well I took the car for a 4 hour drive ........perfectly comfortable.

Only problem? You have to fit within the confines of the seat ....again easily verified by simply removing the cushion and sitting in the seat....if you fit go for the mod.

I asked that same question about 5 months ago and also got mixed answers...
but, I am 6'4", 275 lbs actual weight, and I do fit in my 6sp 1997 355 spider, but it is a bit tight. My hair rubs on the roof, but it is manageable. I do have to bend my legs somewhat to shift properly, but hey, if I want total comfort I will take the benz sedan.
The 360 has TONS more head and legroom as compared to the 355. You really need to sit in one and check it out for yourself, but it is definitely possible.

I'm 6'3", and much of it in the torso (and head). I fit comfortably by scootching the seat up a bit, and reclining the seatback a bit more. It's a lot more comfy because I swapped out the airbag wheel for a MOMO wheel with a spacer, and it brings it closer to me so my arms aren't outstretched (my shoulders are far back due to the recline.

    See these threads:

My mechanic may have 1 Challenge spacer left, if you're interested.

How much do you want to slouch? I am a little under 6.1 and had to slouch in both my spider and B, wasn't to bad for me, but I don't know if I would want to deal with any more heighth. If the budget allows, go with a 360. Much more room.

I am 5'10, but I have long legs and a short trunk, and I tend to sit up with the seat back almost straight. The carbon "sport seats" have some height adjustment by replacing the pads in the seat. I think you would be fine. Definitely worth driving one to see. The sport seats have a different feel to them than the stock seats, and you would also want to be sure you liked them.

The rear pedestal mounts of the seat can easily be shimmed up with washers
so raising either the stock ( it has a higher bottom seat pad height to start with) or the sports seat is not really much of a problem.
The front pedestal mounts are however not adjustable . So your limitation in raising the rear will depend on the angle of the lower seat cushion....if you follow my drift.
That and additional lower seat padding should resolve this issue.

6'2" and about 230 here and fit just fine. I do have long legs and large shoulders but had no problem on a 500 mile road trip.

I am 6'6", 218 punds. I sat in a 355 and it was VERY tight. I have an M Roadster (too small) so could probably get away with it but it wouldn't be comfortable.

The 360 is much better but I still would like a little (1/2") more head room. NOTE: It was great with the racing seats.

Of course there is a budget difference between the cars. You will need to sit in them both and decide for yourself.

I am deciding if I want to step up to the price of a 360. OK, it isn't the price of the car it is the maintenance that concerns me. I was thinking of using it as a daily driver. Maybe I need to get two cars instead. One F and the other something more reliable .... hum

I'm 192 cm (around 6'4") and it's tight in my F355 GTS (but it's doable). I guess it's part of owning a Ferrari (for me). This is also a big reason why I decided to go with a GTS, now I know for sure I don't have any problems with the roof off ;)

EDIT: My first post by the way! I'm happy to be a member of Fchat!
