I have just now been informed that my car will fail State inspection due the fog lights not going out when the high beams are turned on. With the light switch in the parking light mode or more, the fog lights are either on or off with the switch in the center console, yes. I'm being told to either fix the wiring or remove the fog lights. WTF

Is this not how this works on the 355?

That's ridiculous. Find someone else to do the inspection. First off, I don't think that is anywhere in the VA requirements, and I have looked hard at them (building car 2 for registration in VA).

All bulbs must work as from the factory originally, so if it has a bulb the bulb has to work. So they can fail you if you don't have a working light of any kind.

But I this fog light off with high beam thing is crazy and has never been a problem with anyone that I have known of registering and inspecting a 355 at any time in VA. I am not sure they are actually fog lights anyway, I thought they were "driving lights". Who cares. They are simply wrong. Take it to the dealer for the inspection if you need to.

It's **** like this that makes me want to pack up come to VA and ***** slap someone.
Also why in the hell does it matter if your fogs are on with the brights, you're not supposses to have brights one when someone is approaching or you're coming up from behind. So who the hell does it hurt? It actually improves my ability to see the road while driving.

I've had just about enough of big brother in this country.

I just remembered on the 355 with headlights off when you pull the light stalk inorder to "flash to pass" the driving lights flash. Isnt this also required by law?
If you seperate the circuits than guess what no longer works.

OP what did you end up doing?
