High(er) mileage 355 for sale. Good deal?

Las Vegas car.. definitely a rental. not that it is a BAD thing. the price looks pretty good. interior looks ok also. i would make a gambling trip and go check it out in person maybe. once you do the service on it, maybe a new clutch, water pump, it will be practically good as new.... but there are a few other guys in here that could probably offer some more indepth advice than me

 

Great looking car for the money. Wouldnt pay much more than that for it though.

I think the owner or someone here might know this car. I think I've seen it here before. I would think a PPI would be your best bet and find out more about who and what was done in the "service".

Ok, without joking around, the most important issue is the condition and not the price. I'd focus on that first and make sure you feel very comfortable. Then you can tell us what a great deal you got on it.

 

Man, for US$52K, I should buy it and let one of you guys drive it around there for me.
US$52K is AU$60K!! FRICKEN CHEAP compared to what we are paying over here!!

The cheapest 355 I have ever seen here sold for around AU$130K and it was average condition!! A smick 355 sells for around the AU$160K+!!!

Seriously, I think this car has a history on this board. I think I remember about a guy owning it in Ca and trying to sell it to someone in Vegas. Does this ring a bell to anyone? I've seen pictures of it in front of some vegas hotel.

I'm not sure how you could do a search. I'd guess it was 2+ years ago........... Maybe another black 355 from Ca to Vegas? Don't know...

If the PPI has nothing major on it, and this is going to be a drivers car, then pull the trigger man. Hard to get any better than that.

I sold my 308GT4 in Sydney, hopped on a plane, and used the same money a few weeks later to buy a 95 355.

That's one reason why I'm staying.

A few others are: tax rates, home loan interest is tax deductible!!!!!, money goes further, and the person in the picture below.

If it comes with good credible records and checks out OK (PPI by an independent tech), the price seems fair (not a screaming bargain, but very fair). A lot depends on the last service -- if it just had the full $10K mechanical massage at a Ferrari dealer, great. If it had a couple of new belts thrown on at Biff's Arco station, not as great. Etc.

I like the six speed -- the F1 technology has already been superceded, but a manual will always be a manual. I also like the color (shock! ), although F355s are one of the rare Ferrari models that look good in pretty much any color. I assume you know about the detailing rituals of black cars...

Also I think this is the highest-mileage F355 I've ever seen, so while $52K seems great just remember you'll probably get that much and not a penny more if you sell it.

How did Mrs. Lusso come in behind taxes and exchange rates?

 

If this 355 was around when I was looking I would have snatched it up in no time flat!!! A Nero 1995 F355......... What else is there to live for?????
