It seems like 20'000 miles is considered high mileage for F cars. Is that just for the older models, or does that apply to the newer models that come with the 7 year free maintenance. If you plan to actually drive the car daily (currently market inflation not withstanding) is it better to hold off for something with 20k plus that will see a price reduction versus like new / new.

I see requests with people asking for higher mileage vehicles, what sort of problems are you inheriting and / or are the newer models more "daily driver" friendly all around, where this should not be a concern.

Your question is too big - there are more than sixty years of these cars and it is simply stupid to try to compare the implications of mileage and use over that period

    Some 90s V12 are up to 250000 miles some 308 era & 360 era & 458 beyond 100000 as in fact are some 250 series I believe

Choose a model that interests you then look in that section for the regular high mileage threads

    My two cents…

Why pay a premium for a low mileage car if you know you are going to drive it - thus evaporating that premium with each mile. Plus, many will assert that a regularly driven car will have less issues than a low mile garage queen.

Similar to my comment in the ‘how many owners’ thread, mileage matters far, far less than condition.

Mileage is secondary to condition. And condition is secondary to if it was loved by someone who knows wtf they are doing..

To be more specific: Do many people drive their cars 20k plus in 1-3 years and then sell them. 488 / f8 ? What kind of discount would one expect on that type of vehicle compared to just getting one new. It is really hard to tell what the answer should be, due to the market inflation. If there isnt going to be 25% discount depreciation it is probably better just to spec it out how I want. I am still trying to understand what makes something "good condition" versus not on the newer mid engine models. I did read the how many owners thread, and I wasnt sure if mileage was the same. Lots of "marry your mechanic" comments out there. I prefer to not have to see them...estranged perhaps :)
