Wow. We got six inches of rain in 30 minutes last night about midnight. The pool was low about two inches and actually overflowed. Lots of leaves in the pool this morning as the backyard went everywhere. Water got to within about a foot from the back door. Fortunately we are on high enough ground that the bad flooding did not get to us. It was about three miles away where the trailer park in Haltom City got flooded.

We were in Haltom City about midnight coming back from downtown Fort Worth and drove through the deluge. It was amazing the amount of water that was coming down.

I hope everyone else made it through okay further to our north.......

Same thing here. I live in Shady Shores, just South of Denton... tons of rain!

My swimming pool as well overflowed, which in turn overflowed the patio and then water started flowing into the sunroom, and then making its way into the living room soaking the carpet. By the time the wife and I realized it (around 2am) there was about an inch of standing water in the room and continuing to flow in. It was coming in as quickly as we could mop it up. I started heading for the garage to get the shop vac when there was a huge lightning bolt nearby and the power went out... for four(4) hours. We continued the cleanup by candle light, mops, and a bunch of towels.

Oh well, we need the rain. Just wish it would spread itself out a bit.

I saw on our local (south Florida) news that Gainesville was flooded. Does anybody know if Bob Smaith and his shop are OK?

    Thanks.

Heard this from a friend earlier as well, said it was New Orleans flooded flooded. We got a bit of rain here on Thursday night, but nothing like what's been on the news.

I went out and waded through the swamp to get to the hose for the pool pump. I hooked it up, rolled it to the street and began backwashing. It kept the level low enough to not make it into the house. Fortunately for us it did not make it into the house..................The grass looks really good now.

I am glad I live part way up a hill.

Bear Creek here in the park went wild. Used the road as an alternate route, tore out fences, messed up some roads.

There was a S10 pickup in the middle of the creek when the water went down.

Thanks. Sounds like they're in relatively good shape, then.

More rain on the way to Gainesville tonight. I hope Bob has some sandbags. Although, I do not believe it will come close to being as drastic as a couple of days ago.....
