    Guys - especially Brian Crall..

What's the best battery to get for an F430? (2007 spider)

My A/C has "weirded out" a couple of times, and since the car was barely driven in 3 years
I figured I'd just replace the battery - well, I'll pay the dealer to do it and reset all that needs
to be reset, but I'd like to supply a proper battery.

Reason I think the batt is a bit wonky is that every time I hook the charger up to the car
the battery seems to "need" a charge - and after a brisk run, it shouldn't (IMHO).

    Thoughts?

    Jim,
Do you know what size it is (Group #)? Factory Ferrari batteries can have a rather short life, since many are not driven much or put on battery tenders.

Congrats on the car, BTW! ;)

I know you are going to want an AGM battery, and preferably as close to oem size as possible. I am running a Group 34 AGM Sears Platinum (made by Odessey) that has 880CCA, and #1 rated by Consumer Reports for output, reserve capacity and useful life. Sears only sells a limited number of sizes. Odessey sells in a wide range of sizes, but the big issue with the 430 is I believe the battery posts have to be reversed. They need to be on the 355 too, but fortunately the cables are long enough to reach if they are not....no go on the 430...posts must be set up correctly.

Check the archives, I know 430 owners have come up with a solution that works well from the Odessey line.

Thanks - except for this A/C weirdness, I love it.

As to size/group #, I don't off hand - was hoping someone else might know.

Per the manual - I downloaded a copy - the battery is..

    Fiamm ECO FORCE VR760 - 12V - 65 Ah

Another thread seems to indicate that this is a 34R battery.

Fiamm says Group "L3B" and measurements of 276x175x175mm

    Which equates according to http://www.rtpnet.org/teaa/bcigroup.html

    to a "Group 40R" battery, not 34R.

    Thoughts?
