Yes, and get a dash cam. 20 years ago some young man threw a large rock which hit my company car smashing the windscreen and damaging some panels. I stopped the car , grabbed the guy and my passenger called the police. After the police came and arrested him it became clear that he was autistic and we found out that he was being tormented by some arseholes and the rock he threw was meant for them not me and his poor parents had been through this before. I went to court and only asked his parents for the excess ..... wished I had grabbed the tormentors instead
Nothing more aggressive than a feral overweight female bogan driving a Hyundai Excel with a frangipani sticker on the rear window on her way to McDonalds
Dragging this thread back on track. Came back to Sydney today, the WAZE app identified a HPC location with a question "Still There" and sure enough he was just up the road with a car pulled over.
No. Wrong design. 4-1 instead of 4-2-1, so make more top end power at the expense of power and torque in the midrange. Also have no heat protection. Plus, they're only $1k less than Tubis. At that price, no contest. What does Phil recommend?
Have you considered having the original ones refurbished? They use all new metal, but re-use the flanges on either end which is ok. A fair few 355 owners in the US have had their headers fully refurbished. Cheaper than buying new replacement ones and they still have the OEM look as the heat shields are put back on over the top of them. I will try and find some of the old threads for you, they show before and after pics.
Thanks Pap! I've arksed the dealer to find out if the rumour that Ferrari replacements are actually no longer made of alfoil is true and get me a price. If they are improved I'll weigh them up against Tubis. But I won't consider anything that isn't new and 4-2-1 design. Anyhoo, back on track, I saw a police car tonight on the way home from the Adelaide Oval. Image Unavailable, Please Login
The 430s also had the same header issue, so I doubt any genuine Ferrari 355 headers are any better today than they were 20 years ago when the car was new. I would steer clear of them and they will probably be $5K each anyway. Make sure you're sitting down when he passes on the price to you. Hope you're enjoying the cricket man.
You're probably right, but I did hear that Ferrari had improved the design and materials for the "new" 355 header. We'll see. Truth is, I'll probably re-mortgage the house and buy Tubis. I'm certainly enjoying the cricket. 90,000 in two days. Best ground, best weather, in the best location for cricket in the country. Compared to this the last two games were a complete joke.
Yeah, if you don't have your original ones rebuilt, buy the Tubis and be done with it mate. I will tell my mate tomorrow at work that you are there, he will be jealous of you. He was hoping to go but could not get the time off work for it. When he is 1+ mile underground tomorrow in 60c+ heat, I will be sure to remind him of how much fun you're having.
Car advice article. I found this interesting and fun as I did the Melbourne Sydney trip no plates when I bought a 993. Police prejudice towards certain cars, is it real? Police prejudice towards certain cars, is it real?
When I drove my 360 from BNE to Melbourne back in 2012, I lost the rear numberplate somewhere near Dubbo I kept going, arrived in Melbourne without being pulled over once. Reported the lost numberplate to TMR, they said it would take 2-3 weeks to issue new numberplates and post them to me, so I kept driving the car around Melbourne. Finally was pulled over, explained the situation, the cops gave me 14 days to get the new numberplates on the car, no fine or warning. 2 days later the new numberplates arrived in the mail.
I bet he doesn't pay the fine, and points off a German licence?", https://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/regional/gascoyne/a/32098742/no-auto-ban-for-german-speedster/#page1
It appears the NSW RMS no rego stickers, must be turning into massive cash cow for the state coffers. I didn't get stung, but I know 7 instances family friends and neighbours who have fallen foul of this little deception in the last 6 months.. Rant over.
One can set up a Reminder system with Queensland Transport. I'm sure NSW would have someting similar.
I don't understand what you mean mate? Here in QLD we don't get rego stickers anymore. But we get a rego renewal notice in the mail prior to our rego running out. We don't have Police cars here in Mount Isa with number plate recognition systems anymore either. QLD Police said the system was too expensive to fit and maintain, so they removed it from the only Highway Patrol they had it in here at the time. They dropped the system here over 12 months ago. How many cars you reckon are driving around without any rego? I know of a few mates driving around with no rego now since early this year. Haven't been caught yet. The Police will have to call back to base with the rego details to find out if the car has rego or not while driving past the car. Easier driving behind obviously. Lol. "You can't Police them all" rings true with this one. If you are still displaying an old rego sticker in the windscreen, you cop a fine. Lol A few friends have been caught with this one also.
