I,because I probably have a few more rego's than you mob,set up when I receive a renewal notice,my bank to pay it on the day with internet banking with Bpay. Piece of piss,no missed fines,no problem.,;'!
You're lucky mate, your brain would fry trying to keep tabs on paying all those regos when they come in. My brain just fried thinking about it.
Actually there is the silver highway patrol in town,he has it,i've seen it when they've been patrolling the highway to work. Bunch of bastards i think!!!
How can you tell it's in the car while driving past them? They may have brought it back then or it was a bluff from the start. And it's only a matter of time before them ****s from work are caught then eh? I will be sure to let them know next week when I am back at work.
There infra-red,there black boxes located on the side of the led roof lights Only the one patrol car has them
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm, all the Patrol cars for the last 10 years here have had them boxes on the side. Leave it with me, I will find out man.
The situation that cumulated in my son-in-law being stung for license and rego is a cluster shambles. First of they didn't get the mail for the renewals, They live in a granny flat that they rented through a realestate agent, but is not registered as a flat but a hair dressing salon. The mail goes to the house in which their flat is at the back off. The tenants in the house changed in the last month and didn't know who the mail was for, and didn't bother to give it to the agent. They even got a letter from the electoral commission saying they have have used a false address, as the property doesn't exist. Yes you can get electronic alerts but you have to be registered on line with the RMS. You can pay online but you only need the billing code. The total fine was $2,200 however the HWP officer checked up and was lenient and the fine was $1100.
Pap, there was a story on the news a few weeks ago: I think it was 60 odd numberplate recognition units rolled out to Traffic Branch across the State with more to come. And if you keep your eyes open you will see that more and more Transport Inspectors have got it as well. Plenty here in Brisbane. John
NSW I think every HWP has the unit and I suspect that's what they spend there day doing. The M5 in Sydney normally has at least 3 cars going in and out of the city.
I have no problem with that. Years ago, I was rear-ended on the harbour bridge by an unlicensed, unregistered, unemployed drop-kick. I had to pay the insurance excess, for something that was entirely not my fault.
Thanks John, they must be bringing them back then. They definitely got rid of them here over 12 months ago. Be good to have them back, I always have my cars registered and it will be good to the losers off the streets.
I am not complaining jsu commenting on how easy it is for those who are tring to do the right thing caught out. I have had 3 friends in the last 12 months with identical scenarios to your and two were in classic cars, all three were texting related
Why don't they get hooked up online with RMS esp with dodgy address possibilities? As soon as they got rid of rego stickers I made sure I had my email and phone details lodged with them. Rego was due last week and leading up to it I got SMS reminders.. perfect.. never forget or miss. Oh, speaking of HWP.. I was shown a little, (or considerable) "discretion" recently.. I didn't think such a thing still existed.. my respect for them (or some) went up 1000% as a result. Oh number 2. Speaking of right hand lane hogs 5 k under the limit and lockstep with car to the left on the open highway.. can we bring back Mad Max to do some thinning of the herd? Variations on this madness experienced in the past week on Pac Hwy have been when have 3 b-doubles nose to tail and said right-laner goes dead as a maggot at 105, trucks pushing 103.. so we have 2K differential making the overtake more like a fortnight endurance test.. all the while close to these monsters jiggling around.. not the place to hang around for longer than you have to.. Somewhat rarer now due to the many dual lanes here now is the "overtaking lane" scenario when you have a limited length and aforementioned right-laner has calculated the exact time THEY need to get past front most truck but doesn't care about YOU.. so happy to dawdle.. all the while I can see the yellow "merge" signs coming up.. get a MOVE on.. sheesh.. last time had blinkers on truck wanting to come over and I'm still level with cabin and idiot in front just clears it all at their leisure.. thanks. But heh.. much better to do all of the above than ever go over (or even near) "the speed limit".. that could get dangerous you know
Hind sight from which we all suffer from isn't help here. Their got married in November last year and moved from home. And prior to this getting the mail wasn't a problem. So as I said its a cluster shambles. No dough they will have it set up for the future, just a shame when they they are both honest hard working well meaning people with lots on their plate. He is taking it court with the aid of a friend who solicitor, let see what happens. Its a life lesson
Sure. didn't mean it so "past tense-ish".. just putting out there what I did hoped to find helpful.. hope they get it sorted soon!
