People who did not attend have no idea what they missed...The vintage track day was great, to run with a winning 65 Lola, have a 910 pass you on the straight, the Diablo SVT that won the Lamborgini Challenge, the Porsche Fab car (called the baby 962), not to mention the Chevrons and Formular cars-it all was awesome. The sound, the smell of racing fuel, the excitement of hot laps with these cars. Bobby Rahal on the track in the Carrear GT, and did I mention the rides offered? When will you get to ride in these cars? I thought my ears were bleeding after exiting the seat of the Lola! Friday, cocktail reception and big band, Saturday, the road tour was a blast. I road up and down the line viewing the cars that went on the tour...a Copper sports racer, one of three built, a Cunningham C3, a Hispano-Suiza H6B, a visit to an Oyster factory, a historic church, and lunch on the lawn at Palmetto Bluff-it was all just really too cool. then that night, dinner with Bobby Rahal, lot's of neat stories, talk of Dannak's future, and racing in general. Sunday, the show, naturally, I stayed near the race trailer of Scott Kennedy and Brian Elliot in the Quest for Speed display, great people, and great time overall. It was good to see George, Bruce and a few other folks from the Carolina's, but I did not see enough of you local car crazy folks. Put this on your calander for next year....I promise, you will be glad you did.
Another event I missed. Do you know if the G and the M Roadster were dealer cars or privately owned? I wouldn't mind tracking down the M. In my favorite color, too!
Hey George gret pics. But I'll be honest.....I really though this thread was about somethin else. I got real excited LOL. But again, great pics Cheers, Vasco
