Hip surgery when I was 12, dont know the sympton.

For all you doctors, i am trying to remember what type of hip problem I had when I was twevle which resulted in surgery. I had three metal screws placed inbetween the joint and socket to close the gap. From what I remember, it was mix of gaining weight and having a growth spurt that caused me to grow 5 inches in one year. This was 21 years ago and would appreciate if any of you can give me more insight on it.
