I've been seriously looking to move to the Raleigh area in the very near future.

Does anyone out there own a business or are you in a hiring position, looking for a software development project manager? If so, please email or IM me!

    thanks,

    Aaron

    Hi Aaron!! I just moved down here from CT a couple of months ago, and like the area so far :) ! I haven't been looking for a job too diligently :D , but there should be a job for you, as I think a lot of companies are going to move south in the next few years. You can check the following websites;
    www.employmentguide.com
    www.monster.com
    www.careerbuilder.com
www.winstonsalemjournal.com (classifieds) or Raleigh's local paper classifieds

Better roads, with much less traffic than the northeast!!
    Better weather, shorter winter!!
Cost of living is a lot less down here too :) !!!

I have experience on IIS, javascript, ASP, DHTML/HTML, XML/XSL and some JAVA (but it's been a while since I've actually written code!). I have project management experience in projects using Tomcat and JSP.

I have most recently taken over the project management of a J2EE product running Windows/SQL Server, HPUX/Oracle, SUN/Oracle, and AIX/DB2. JBoss and Weblogic are the application servers for that product, but I wouldn't put it on my resume since I have just recently taken it over.

I've been a project manager for about 5 years now, with the last couple of years not being much involved in coding (my current company has really pushed the offshore model for any coding and QA).

I have seen projects through from envisioning to production/stabilization and support.

If anyone has any interest, please PM or email me and I can provide more detailed info.

    thanks!

    Aaron

Cary's a great place to live and raise a family. My wife and I have lived up and down the east coast for the past 20+ years and decided to move to Cary in '94. We love it here and have no plans to move ever again, God willin' and the river don't rise!

Good luck with your job search. Have you contacted any companies in Research Triangle Park? I'm sure you know that IBM is there, and countless others.

Don't mean to steal the thread, but I am planning on moving to NC, preferably Raleigh area. I went to NC State and my in-laws still live there so I know the area well. I got my degree in Mechanical Engineering, I have been working as Nuclear Engineer for the past 3.5 yrs in Virginia Beach area since graduation. It would probably be in about a year. NC is much nicer.

Don't worry RX7Turbo there are tons of software/systems management type work in the triangle area. Keep a look out on internet for work.

    Thanks

Good area. While there are a lot of technology jobs here, there are also a lot of highly skilled workers trying to get those jobs. Its a competitive market, but that can definately be a positive. I know nothing about computers and don't have any insiders in that industry, but if you need any help with the move, let me know.
