Right now located on display in Fort Worth at Summit Bank.
Rob, About two years ago I was told about a 333SP that was wrecked in College Point, Texas and was in a local bodyshop being repaired. I tried to get more info but came up empty. I was also told that a local guy was rebuilding the engine on his own without Michellotto. If it is not the car pictured Ferrari of Houston stores three (3) 333SPs for a fellow named Phil Bennett. Bennett's crew chief took ill and never got to pick up the cars and move them to their Road Atlanta shop. Perhaps he has loaned one of them to the bank for display? Maybe he owns the bank?
College Station, Texas The number 30 and the MOMO would lead one to Gianpierro Moretti, who retired after winning Daytona and I believe liquidated his cars. Don't know current info........
Wish the picture showed more of the car. There were a few Momo cars and a few look-a-likes. McCormick has 010 and it is in Florida.
Assuming this is a real car (Andy Evans built a sort of a show car, with body panels hung on a tube chassis -- I have no idea where this went, or if it even survived) this is almost certainly chassis 004, which is in Texas. If so, it's been through a LOT of hands (and one new tub) since Road Atlanta in 1994, when it was Moretti's car. The trim and decalling on this car are not correct for a Momo car as raced. (One story about the crash which destroyed the original tub: Max Papis crashed 004 in testing at Mosport. His crew chief told me "It'd be easier to order the parts if there were one part number for 'everything ahead of the engine.'") Bill Dolohite raced a 333 SP painted yellow, from Austin, Texas. I don't recall the chassis number offhand (and I'm not going to look -- the F1 race is on) -- but I'm pretty sure it was 004. With both owners being Texans this probably accounts for the stories of a 333 in College Station (which I'll bet was actually Austin). Dolohite cut a few corners on the maintenance of his 333, and had one of the few true engine blowups (cut a major inspection port in the case at Daytona). That engine was well past it's rebuild date. Philip Bennett's three 333s are/were maintained by Risi Competizione, and all are maintained in their correct liveries. Phil, who lives in New Jersey, has a very interesting collection of late sports racers (ever wondered who actually owned the Audi R8 which Stefan Johanssen raced? A LeMans-winning 962? Now you know). Bennett does not have a shop at Road Atlanta. By an interesting coincidence, there is one of the most important 333s in the Dallas area, the Moretti car which won Daytona and Sebring in the same year. It is also maintained in its propery livery, and thus is not the car pictured. And finally, Moretti sold his last two 333 SPs (I actually sold them for him) and retired from racing several years ago when he was diagnosed with a serious illness. (As an aside, chassis 019, the Daytona/Sebring winner, was sold after it qualified at LeMans. The basis was "this car has won both Daytona and Sebring this year; the price is X. If it also wins LeMans this weekend, the price is 2X." The deposit was received as the car was being pushed to the grid....) Old Guy
Old Guy, Thanks for your insight and most useful information. Bennett did however have a shop at Road Atlanta, a fact that was confirmed by Road Atlanta to me last year. The man he hired to look after his cars, a former Risi employee, took ill and the shop was barely used if at all. I have below several 333s at FCA National in Atlanta. I believe one is McCormick's 010. I welcome your comments. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I just found another Momo car I had photographed in 1999. I am guessing from the US flag it may have been raced at LeMans? Image Unavailable, Please Login
David, In the Road Atlanta photo (Are you sure, by the way? Unless that's the tech shed in the background, I can't match that building to anything at the track), the car in front is apparently Benny Caiola's 028. The second car could be McCormick's 010 -- I think he may be using later-style bodywork on the car now (such as the fin and high-downforce nose). In the second photo that is chassis 019, the Daytona/Sebring winner. It was sold and has been maintained in the configuration you see -- exactly as it came off the track at LeMans in 1998, its last race.
I wonder if this is the "show" car. From the picture there appears to me no roll bars coming down from the main roll hoop and there are no side mirrors. Also the paint looks way too glossy almost like those F1 and IRL show cars you see at exhibits. Too bad we can't see more of the car. Regards, Jon P. Kofod www.flatoutracing.net
The first photo is definately Road Atlanta, I took it in 1999 at the National. The first car I believe is 033 and belonged to Steve Cox at the time. It was traded in at Wide World for another 333 and now resides in Chicago and is very capably looked after by Tod Routi. I do not know who owned/s the fourth car. You are correct about 028 and 010. As for the second picture My notes tell me it was owned by Charlie Arnolt(?) and recently was sold, I'd like to know who has it. As is even more interesting is that there is yet another Momo look-a-like parked behind it. That picture was taken at the Chateau Elan Concourse. I love this kind of stuff, thanks for your comments, everybody
The former owner of 019 was Charles Arnott. The present owner is a rather private person, and I'm not sure I'm the one to reveal what he owns. I suspect the first car is Benny Caiola's because of the small logos on the side and nose, which appear on several of his cars. I still think I'm right on this one, but...whatever. I think the other "Momo" car is the ex-Bob Rapp 006. It acquired a Momo paint scheme at some point, but was not a Momo car, and has no race history.
The third one from the left is Ciaola's car. It has his crest of arms logo on the front nose. The first one has classic coach stickers on the front and sides. It might be Cox's car as I have seen that car along with Benny's at the Glen a few times. Regards, Jon
Attached is Mr.C sitting on his car for a photo. I did some work for him on the car that winter. The other car is in the second picture. Newer nose w/flat splitter, dorsal fin, and not all of it's front lights. Also painted splitter. I will dig through old FMLs to see if they listed all Concours entrants. Old Guy, I have looked through my notes and you may be correct about the car at the top of the thread. I have 004 belonging to Ron Henriksen of Houston, Texas. Do you know of this fellow?
David, I have Henriksen as the owner as well, but know nothing about him. At this point I'm not even sure who told me he now owned 004.
I have video we took at the National event mentioned above of the 333's, art's f50gt and the two f1 cars. If you guys want it, I can upload it and show you.
Formula, Thanks for the offer. What we are trying to do is figure out the serial numbers of the verious entrants in Atlanta and who's car is pictured in the beggining of the threads. I am strengthening my wife's argument that I am a wealth of useless information!!!LOL
Gotcha, i was referring to the picture above of allt he 333sp's f50gt, and f1's. I have video literally of that picture above. We video taped the photoshoot they had, so i have some footage of all those carsupclose if anyone needs clarification on those cars. I dont think I have any info on the first picture posted, sorry.

QUOTE That photograph would be the cars being run by Classic Coach. It appears to be Lime Rock not Road Atlanta, but I am not sure. Actually, the THIRD car is Bennys (you can almost make out his "c" coat of arms on the front. The first car is probably chassis #11 - another of Onofrio's good customers. The last car appears to be #39 - . I am not sure who is running the Momo car right now. Scottie
The photo was taken on the lower skip pad at Road Atlanta while facing towards the road the track is situated on. The buildings in the background aren't part of the track but in fact garages which are privately rented. Many contain small businesses and are accessable from the road and not the skid pad. We usually set up camp down there because it is flatter than the rest of the paddock.
Yep, its definitely RA. Again, I have video of that picture, pans, and closeups of each car. I'll try to edit and post it later.
Looking at the photo again now I see exactly where the photo was taken. I assumed the building in the background was closer -- I know it pretty well, as that's where Archangel Racing was based, and is now (still) the location of Dick Barbour Racing. Thanks for the explanation. (And I was also wrong about Benny's car...must have been a bad morning.) P.S. Scottie -- the "Momo" car pictured is either McCormick's 010 or it's a non-Moretti car painted up to resemble the real thing. Neither of the two other ex-Moretti cars (004 and 019) look like this.
