I still have that copy of Motor Trend. Too bad this and many other great designs went the way of "Vector Aeromotive" True the Bugatti Veyron has 16 Cylinders, it's Technically not a "V" configuration, it's their silly "W" configiration that seems to work. I would love to see how much power that W16 could make if someone ran some nitromethame through it and put a single Super Charger on top. Sorry off topic. But there is nothing like the sound of the old BRM V16 F1 Car from the 50s.
WOW Thanks! its great to see the old girl was not crushed by the feds! I am so happy to see the car, please post more if you want too Now all we need is a 1/18 model. I am still hoping that some body will make one. I know of at least 2 companies that are considering it, I just hope that they actually do, with Claudio's blessing of course!
There is really really nothing like the sound of an Auto Union Typ C V16: [ame]www.youtube.com/watch?v=VKXgqZr8-5k[/ame] & auto union typ c - YouTube back on topic.
Hello Alan, here we go, I have one more shot of the car in full size. The Orange County Register newspaper stands there to verify the actual date, so will help clear up the famous custard tests previously challenged in some early posts once for all! "Time for talk runs short" That's what the headliner says, wow! Greetings,,, Image Unavailable, Please Login
You don't need a newspaper or any custard to clear this up. The Bill of Lading is public information - see below. I long ago conceded that yes, Claudio had actually managed to get the car back into the USA matching his claims. If he'd wanted to shut me up he could have posted this or some of those cute photos with the "Welcome Home" banner a long time ago. >8^) ER Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks! I love this car, can never get enough of it. I am guessing from the bill of lading, that the car was in England?? I assumed it was tucked up all this time in some FED shed.
Fair assumption to believe the car was locked up a while. The length of its stay likely depended on how long it took to determine whether any criminal charges would be filed or fines levied. The only way to regame the system and import it to the USA again was to have it exported first. I knew someone here with a TVR Cerbera who used to do that every year. If you read the reports on the Cizeta's seizure it had long overstayed its welcome from the original temporary waiver it received so there was no way it was just going to be released back into Claudio's custody. What likely happened was the car's actual owner had to petition for its return, then it was exported at someone's expense, and now another waiver has be granted for it to come back. Surprising the Government would allow that on a car that has already been flagged, but sometimes the right hand doesn't talk to the left here. BTW: I'm not opposed to the gaming of the system as I think the US's vehicle importation laws could use some revision. One Cizeta V16T roaming the roadways of America is hardly an issue of environmental impact or public safety. Also if they can keep the game going another 5 years it can just stay here forever with our 25-year rule. >8^) ER
Good to see the car has been released. Just hope Claudio gets time to drive it. I assume the rest of the V16T's are immobile at the minute so at least this one could get out and stretch it's legs.
On the road? 0. In private hands? All of them. How many are likely to be on the road again? 2, and one of those is a Ferrari motor conversion.
Why you say the rest of them are are not likely to be on the road again? Because they are on museums?
The two Japanese Cizeta. I think the photo at the show is taken since the car was sold by Autogarage Motoyama, if so nice to see the car out and about. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Fenice TTJ Spyder arrived to the Shikoku Automobile Museum (Japan) at March 18, 2014 l©®Ô¨Ù And still here! https://www.flickr.com/photos/125339863@N08/15261492267/sizes/l/ Photo from Flickr taken in the October 2014 Brian, do you know who is current owner of the car?
I am finally posting my pics from a couple months ago when I had the honor to meet Mr. Zampolli and see the Cizeta in his shop. Claudio was a super nice guy, and we talked for a long time. Sadly, the Feds did some damage to the car when they seized it and the engine was undergoing a rebuild, so it couldn't be start up at the time. But it was still amazing to see it and meet the man behind it! I've even included a short video of the infamous quad headlamps popping up!
