    According to Germany's newspaper, Bild, HK was only McLaren's third choice to replace FA. Nico Rosberg and Sebastian Vettel were apparently preferred, but could not be "extracted from solid contracts".

    If true I guess it's natural that Mercedes would have liked to have a German in one of the seats, so it's not necessarily a reflection of the relative abilities of the three drivers.

    I think they will do very well with HK, maybe not there 1st choice but by no means a bad choice..
