Ok.... I,m not the biggest sportscar enthusiast in the world, but I think its great fun to drive a good car. So... all of the sudden I,m beein offered a 2003 575M with GTC handling package (gearbox and susp) as payment.
The car was supposed to be bougth for approx Euro 100.000 from an authorized reseller.

A few question to this forum wich I hope someone finds the time to answer.

The car is supposed to be in mint condition, and the milage is 30k km.
    Its grey with burgundy interior.

Is this a good Ferrari model?
Is this model/year worth Euro 100k?
Is is difficult to sell on later ?
Do they drop rapidly in price?
Is the service/maintenace extremely expensive (France/Italy/Switserland)?

I,ve had a few Porsches, and thougth they where good fun, but never had anything wild like this. Not even close........

Was thinking of having it for maybe a year and then sell it on.

Anything special I should be aware of ?
I know the seller personally, and I know he looks after his things.

Any feedback will be highly appreciated.

    Thanks.

    2003 575 M With GTC for 100k euros is fishy .

First , the GTC package was offered in 2004 , and retrofitting it is rumored to cost 18k€ .
Second , 575M are worth around 115 000 for the cheapest ones..

Edit : the GTC package is : Carbon ceramic brakes , louder exhaust , stiffer suspensions and remapped ECU i think.

The Gearbox is either F1 or manual .

I believe the car you are being offered has the Fiorano package which has stiffer suspension over the regular 575 M .

    Peeyeew....I agree.

    The whole post doesnt jive.

You know him personally.....but the car is supposed to be mint???

Close personal friends of mine.......I would have seen this car when it was delivered.....maybe not a "2003" GTC??????

I think "dizzie in a haze"

Its registred in 2003. It comes with something he calls GTC pakcage.
The seller is a good friend and he have had it for 12 months.
Its on Swiss numberplates (I,m aware of the VAT issue)
Price CHF 160k.... (Should be approx Euro 100k I think)

I shure do know him weel, but I,ve never seen the car. He have been living/working 2400 km from where I used to live. I,ll see it first time next week. The only think that may be fishy here is the year 2003 vs 2004.
I may have missunderstood reg.date vs model... dont know yet.
    Know more tomorrow.

Ask him when the package was fitted ? If it was fitted at the factory when the car was being built , then its the Fiorano Package which helps the handling and gives the 575 a more sportier ride because when introduced the car was bashed all over for being to soft.

I doubt its the GTC handling package which was introduced in oct 04 and is much more expensive ( Carbon ceramic brakes , exhaust , Ecu , stiffer springs and more.. ).

It could be a 575 with Fiorano Package and 30 000 kms. For 100k€ , its a steal , if the car is in good conditions and has a FFSH .

Whow... that was a warm welcome shackman.
You sound like a suspious man, but I guess you have your reasons.... what ever they may be.

    Looking at his message again....
"It has a lot of the GTC handling package"
Further down he writes..... gearbox and suspension.

Dont know if when or how it was retrofitted yet.

From what I understand the price is ok.
    Thanks to the forum.

I just did a very quick search on mobile.de and it seems that a 03' 575 for €100k is very very cheap. If he really bought it for 100 then he made a really good deal!

They seem to go for 120-140k at least.

I know by friday 27 jan.

He have been offered CHF 160 by the Swiss Ferraridealer.
    This is approx Euro 106.000

But I may end up "paying" somewhat more than that, otherwise he would probably just hand it over to the dealer and get the money directly.

I suspect to see the price in the 110-115k area. I know by friday 27.

Well, I,ve only been a Ferrri-owner for 24 hours, and I didnt know that much in the first place, but will be spending a lot of time over the next weeks to read and learn nore about the car.

The GPS..... it actually says Ferrari.
When I turn it on, the Ferrari logo comes up in the display.

This probably means it was sold with the car when it was new, but I,m pretty shure its made by someone else than Ferrari. Just as the BMW Navi-system says BMW but is made by Garmin.

Anyway, its there and it worked great. Voice-guiding and all :)
Its a small combo device. Radio/CD/GPS. No real graphical interface
    Looks mostly like a radio-display.

    Thanks for the kind welcome!
I will post the pix tomorrow. Belive it or not..... its snowing in Cote d'Azur!
I drove down from Geneve yesterday. 670 km. Great weather. Slept bad all nigth just waiting to get out of bed and in to the car again.... SNOW!

    What a bummer!

It never snows in south of France.... except the day when I get my Ferrari.
I,ll post the "first day as a Ferrari-owner-pix" tomorrow.

Its a new world. Totally. Its great, but new!
The handling, the gear and how it reacts when I shift gears.
The AUTO-button (and the strange button underneith AUTO-button wich I dont know what is yet. Looks like a car that is sliding on wet tarmac or something). The fact that I have to use the brakes on hillstarts even when its in AUTO, the way it kind of stops between AUTO-shiftig. Always using handbrakes when parking.

There is a few anoying beeps when I start that I havent figured out what means yet, because the CHECK says OK. And there is a message on the display saying NO CAL....? Something about tires and callibartion I think. Previous owner said it was callbrated or something recently and he suspected that hte mechanic didt put the sencor back on correctly or something... hmm.

The previous owner said that I should let the gas-pedal up when shifting...
    feels better that way to.

Got to start reading tha manuals.

Again, thanks for the welcome and I,ll post the pix tomorrow!

Welcome to the 575 club! Nice car BTW...

And no, don't let off the gas when you shift!

Mine says NO CAL too, happened when the weather got cold, it has to do with the Tire Pressure Monitoring System is not reading the tire pressure currectly.

    Enjoy!
