Interesting. Just saw a 360 Modena on e-bay for Buy It Now at 79.9K. Great condition/ w. service. With prices of really nice 308 and 328 in the high 30's or 40's+ ... this is very interesting of what will happen to our 3x8 series.

I think it's a different market. I've kind of stuck my neck out here before by saying this, but I wouldn't trade my 328 even up for a 360 with similar mileage. I think prices will reach parity within a decade.

The 360 is slipping into 'old car' status (especially with the 430's replacement due in 2009), while the 308/328 are pretty much in 'find the survivors' status. Falling Modenas may squeeze 355s a bit, IMO. It's hard to say. Looks count for something, and the 360 was never the prettiest Ferrari.

NOTHING will happen to 308/328s....try working-on a 360, in your own garage, when something breaks. You'll need a Masters Degree in Computer Engineering and $10,000 in diagnostics equipment to get the car to run. The 'Platypus' look of the 360 will soon look like what it really is - an ugly-duckling mistake created by a wind-tunnel engineer, not a true Pininfarina Artist. With 'nearly-new' Ferraris being confused, daily, with Japanese Ricers by the general public, a new appreciation will emerge with the 3-series cars - BTW, the selling-prices of 308s have gone UP since I bought mine five years ago....and 355/360 cars have all fallen...the market is speaking.

    Michael,

Yeah, that is what I was getting on ... I was thinkinking that 308's keep rising in value vs/ the "newer" cars that get replaced by even newer models. I was not concerned that something "bad" price wise qas going to happen to 308's. I like some new models as well .... mus say especially the 355 and then 348. But, I absolutely love the 308/ 328 cars.

I disagree with the 360 being ugly. I think it's a very beautiful car and plan on owning one soon. I'm still keeping my 328, however. ;)

I too will say the 360 is no ugly duckling, pleanty fast and handles great. I think the problem with them is that the market is saturated with them. The 360CS's will probably hold their own, the others won't fare so well I think. They'll still kick the Ol' Dinos arse anyday sadly enough! But they arn't as cool! :D

    Cheers!

    Bullfighter,

I have read a fair amount of your posts (I couldn't possible keep up with all of them - ha-ha) and you obviously are not only a very enthusiastic F owner, but also extremely knowledgeable. If you sense a bit of sarcasm, I assure you there is none and I mean this with all sincerity.

Nonetheless, I beg to differ with your opinion of the 360 not being sexy. I agree that the car is of the "modern" era and groups better with the influx of recent high-priced exotics more than the old character Ferraris of the 328's and older cars. But I cannot ignore that the car screams sex to me and certainly anyone under 30. That said, if I was thirty, I'd probably want one. But those days are long gone and I think the GTC4 (and 308's among others) will drive circles around the 360 when it comes to style and class.

    I also think...

I don't know the numbers but there are a ton more 360's than 308/328's and look how long it took them to even begin to appreciate. The 360 is doomed to be just another old car.

To me the 360 gets better looking the closer you get.

I think 360's are great looking cars. Let's just say very few of us would kick them out of our garages ;-) ... right?
As I said love the 355's - don't know - something about the style of that car - not too big, just right, sexy as hell. To me the 308/328 is the classic exotic of all time to me, a childhood dream com etrue ... I'm happy!!!
    ;-)

All recent Ferrari models have followed a very similar depreciation curve. The 308 and 328 have passed the bottom of the curve, the 348 is pretty much at the bottom of its curve, the 355 is going to be at the bottom in about 5 years, and the 360 will be depreciating for probably another 10 years at least. A Ferrari 330 2+2 has appreciated more than the 308 or 328 series, does that mean it is because of its looks, rarity, or age? Hard to say, and probably a combination of all 3. I think the 360 is a good looking Ferrari. The more I look at them, the more I like them. If there was one for $79.9k I'd bet it was a scam or an anomoly. A nice 2000 MY 360 spider with 10k miles did sell last month for $92k, and that's the best bargain I've read since keeping track of them.
