    WTF is this , seriously. It's a 1990 TR.

Before the green "p" light on the lower left side would not ever light up. Now, that light comes on if I hit the brakes and the lights are OFF.

If the lights are on (the instrument panel wont be lit) the "P" light is on constantly UNTIL I hit the brakes. At which point the instrument panel lights up and the "P" light goes off. Nice huh?

    Any ideas?

Oh, come on guys! It's so simple maybe you need a refresher course. It's all ball bearing nowadays. Now you prepare that Fetzer valve with some 3-in-1 oil and some gauze pads.

    Sorry, I had to.

Generally, when you have lights on in bizarre combinations, it means there's a ground missing somewhere (in a switched voltage system). Instead of current going through a lamp to ground, it's going through a lamp to another lamp (or lamps) to somewhere else.

You might want to check the grounding points, to see if a wire has come loose.

In a switched ground system (power to all lamps, ground one to turn it on), there may be a power feed missing.

But in general, when you have lamps in odd mixes, the current is running backwards through one of them. ("Backwards", relative to how the circuit was designed -- incandescent bulbs don't care which way the current flows.)
