Ok, I have an Ipod Mini, have it since March 7th, no problems. I wake up this morning at around 10 and go to lift weights in my basement, I go to turn on my Ipod and it works fine....a couple mintutes later it wont play songs, now it wont even turn on and the back of it is really warm.

Anyone know whats going on or should I just send it to get repaired since my warranty is still in effect?

EDIT: The back isnt really warm now, but i can hear this little humm coming out from the back of it.

hey alex, try restarting it. It should give directions in the manual. It is something to the effect of toggling the hold button on then off, then holding down menu and the center button for 5 seconds. Try that untill it shuts of and then turn it back on. The apple sign should appear.

If it is the menu and center button, it is the pause/play and the center button that you hold. Just look in the manual and it will say.

Sometimes they "shut down" when the charge is low. The buttons can be inadvertently bumped (common problem) and the iPod will be playing away and running the battery to nothing. Usually when this happens I have found that it is thirsty for a charge. It will not light up and turn on if the battery is in such a mode. I hope the answer is as simple as that.

    I love the iPod. :)

Worked fine today, I think the coment about how they jsut need to be charged is right, i left on the charger all night and tried it this morning, turned on fine, played all songs no problems.

I did leave it off the charger that night so i think thats why it happend.

    Thanks David and Janet :)

Glad all is well. There is nothing more frustrating than an electronic item on the blink.
